I doubt any fan of that type will be bothered in a negative way on this. Like I said yesterday fans care more about football than they do human rights. It's horrible saying that, but it's the cold hard truth.

I keep hearing he arguments that we as fans don't decide who runs the club... I mean are these people trying to fool me into to thinking they'd vote against this if they did? I don't mind, but I wish people would just be honest and say I'm not bothered about all that stuff over there if theyre going to make nufc good.

absolutely.. it's an instinct to dislike difference.. it's the survival instinct .. it will always be there, but some of us can control it now. I've said from day 1 that the issue driving this protest against the takeover is actually football related in most cases , but they're using the human rights situation like a Trojan horse esque disguise..I will be happy to listen to anyone that has fought for human rights in Saudi Arabia before the 30th of March, but the others are dishonest and disgusting human beings themselves.

I've been in this thread twice I think and it's been an ordeal so summary most appreciated.

So basically the widow of the journalist isn't gonna stop it, but the main problem is all the Prem clubs saying the Saudis will show the games on pirate TV. Or something.

The objections are motivated commercially. BEin see a significant threat to their hegemony. Its funny that no other middle eastern country has raised objections. Only Qatar.

Khasoggi's fiancée is trying to raise awareness of her cause. She doesn't care about Newcastle United, its fans or indeed the Premier League. She is trying to get what happened to her fiancée back in the public eye and it just so happens that this takeover has given her opportunity to do so.

I have every sympathy with her, but it is the Saudi Government who she should pursuing.

If there are objections by other PL sides, we all know the basis. It's concern. Especially the likes of West Ham who know that financially we will blow them all out of the universe. A financially strong, ambitious and successful Newcastle United upsets certain clubs because they know exactly how massive we can become and they remember the Entertainer days when everyone wanted to watch us.

 

There's no problem. There may be mutterings about piracy from other clubs, but there's no conviction nor any evidence of a link between PIF and the pirate TV. A similar case in France had already been thrown out, insufficient evidence from Qatar's side. The only 'problem' is Coronavirus. Frustrating though it is, there's no urgency from the buyers to get the deal done.

 

I'm looking forward to the plans and then hearing haters go through the denial phase.
