Oh no! You mean that Liverpool will not be able to win the league? What a disaster! (It's very difficult trying to pretend even an iota of sincerity)
But as Fats said, there will always be a * next to it. It won't be a real title - rather like those Lordships you can buy . Or when someone is handed an OBE for being famous.
Them being awarded something they ain't actually won is fine by me. Plenty of ammo to wind up plastic pool fans with.
Have to admit I had to look at the table to see Saints position and the games to play...had completely forgotten the situation.
Stan Collymore raised a very important point, in his weekly column for the Mirror. If a player contracts covid-19, it might not just stop him from playing for a few weeks. There could be long term changes to their health, especially to their lungs. All players are vo2 max tested, to determine the maximum amount of oxygen a person can utilize during intense exercise. Permanent damage to the lungs, even a small drop in effectiveness, could affect their level of performance and effectively end a career.
Says it all! What a player! I watched the Official History of the Saints YouTube video the other day. Brought tears to my eyes, I don't mind admitting. We've had some terrific players and performances over the years. Best wishes everyone!!
Good News that the Premier League can get tested twice a week, but the care staff and NHS staff that have actually kept us going have to drive sometimes for 2-3 hours only to either not get a test or wait 7 days for the results.
I don’t like the bloke, but nobody deserves this at any time, let alone now: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52656589
Clubs will still face a £340 million bill, even if the games do go ahead, “just because they are not taking place as expected”, whatever that means. Not sure how Sky and BT can do that, but there must be something in the contracts. Also the clubs would have to pay an additional £750,000 for increased steward cover, if games are played on home soil, to avoid crowds gathering at the stadium. I guess this figure would include policing costs as well stewards on the outside of the stadium. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-clubs-face-repaying-22029359
What? You mean the Murdoch empire has lost money as a result of this Coronavirus pandemic? Oh, what a pity
