You have hit a new low in this post SH if that is possible. All you are doing is expressing a view attacking the EU, nothing whatsoever to do with where the trade is going to come from as the world economies try to recover from the disaster of coronavirus. There was a discussion going on about how this would affect the environment as well as trade, but it seems you cannot contain yourself. Please keep on topic which because of the nature is being moderated with a degree of tolerance, but more of this blinkered stuff will get edited.
The state is naturally the lender of last resort but this does not mean that a socialist agenda is the right path. It is the private sector in the UK that will lead the recovery by providing a business friendly atmosphere which will encourage entrepreneurs to take risks in creating new businesses. In some ways the present difficulties will kill off many 'zombie' companies, those that continue to struggle to make a decent profit. Of course there will be always be some decent companies that fail through no fault of their own. The UK is determined to become a high skilled , high wage economy with the proceeds of success shared around the country. Paying back the enormous borrowed sums will cause a drag but no country is better prepared than the UK at producing opportunities and jobs. I fear for many who reside in European countries with already high unemployment, they seem unable to break out of the mire created in 2008. This recession will be much worse, these countries need radical policies and investment, will Brussels man up?
I find this anti chlorinated chicken thing a bit odd, what is so wrong with it? Most of the pre washed salad we buy is washed with chlorine and we swim in it too at the local pool. Chicken is a meat I avoid as I find it boring and bland and have no knowledge of it source and I avoid it unless I buy a free range organic chicken.
I am frankly amazed you cannot accept there is a whole world of opinions outside of the small band width accepted by the clique on this forum. You do yourself, and the board, no favours in attempting to silence views which may not confirm to your narrow narrative. I would prefer proper grown up discussions which able adults to disagree about topical subjects in a friendly and constructive manner. It is quite normal to find those that disagree with the EU in the UK, after all the country did actually vote to leave. We have a peculiar situation on here where certain views dominate. This however, should not mean other views cannot be fully expressed. All this does is weaken your argument. Surely you would be bored stiff relying on other clique members to just parrot your same, and daily, anti Brexit, anti Tory, views?
Why do you buy a free range organic chicken? Because it tastes better, you can reckon it has lived outside and not been in a cage so that it cannot turn round? My chicken tells me here where it was reared and even what it has been fed on. American chicken is treated with chlorine because of the dreadful conditions it has been reared in. I would not eat it if I knew it had come from such unhygienic sources.
Stop trying to make out that you are being reasonable. There is a structure to any forum of this type, and people don't expect to find that they are looking to discuss football or the environment and find you talking about the EU. It was well noted that in your last enforced absence that you had almost nothing to contribute to the threads that were still open to you. If you don't wish to contribute with others in the way that they find acceptable, just leave or ask me to help you do it.
Clearly the clique dominates with only anti Boris, anti Tory, anti Brexit soundbite allowed. This is rather pathetic.
It is the private sector that is being innovative and responding quickly to the challenges of this virus. Judging by the criticisms on here the state has been woefully inadequate in dealing with the impact of the virus and I just don't mean the UK government. The UK slogan stated "protect the NHS" I thought the NHS was there to protect us? If the NHS had been managed effectively we should not have to protect it! I hope that the current government, in conjunction with the other parties will now bite the bullet and sort out the NHS so that it can function efficiently and service it's customers who pay a lot for a fairly poor service. What governments are good at are controlling what people do. In a democracy there are limits to this, in a socialist, communist, fascist state the people have to be coerced into doing what the state says and if they don't the consequences can be dire. These political systems are run for the sole benefit of the people in power.
I am getting totally fed up with the constant criticism of the government and it's handling of the current situation, both on this board, elsewhere and especially in the media. I would be the first to agree that they have not always got it right but this is an incredibly difficult situation forced on them at short notice. Rather than criticise wouldn't it be better for the media to seek clarification from the government and communicate that to the people effectively via the news and programmes.
... and in socalled western democracies.... look at the US ,so called greatest country in the free world, land of the free.... and how the US govt has treated people during this period... Ironically you probably have more chance of being fed and housed in the other political systems, not that I am advocating one above another. The NHS i am sure would 'love' to protect us but its political masters have other ideas. Ironically i was talking with a colleague who had visited some Chinese state hospitals who said the top floor of the hospitals were the Govt 'managers' all who had no meidcal training.... we have the same in the UK... except the 'managers' sit in Whitehall etc
Is it not the job of the free press and the political oppostiion to challenge any govt? Although BoJo has made veiled threats both to the BBC and Channel 4 , pretty shocking in this era IMO. Additionally 50,000 people have died......... and many due to preparations not put in place due to political decisions e.g pandemic planning etc....
No one brought up Brexit but you AGAIN.... and take a long hard look at how the converstaions on this board have changed since you returned... you are the conduit for divisiveness you appear to get off on it....
