George Caulkin comment from his latest podcast: "Nothing that the Premier League has found would be enough to derail it" https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podca...ruces-ugly-fence/id1488521834?i=1000474373333 Kieran Maguire (football finance expert) in The Chronicle: “The Premier League are unhappy with what has happened with their Middle Eastern broadcasting partner and the piracy but, having said that, there is piracy all over the world," he told Chronicle Live. "I think the Premier League would like a resolution to this and it could be that Newcastle being acquired by a Saudi company might actually make things better for all parties.” “The owners and directors test looks to see whether or not the person has had any convictions which are outstanding, any bankruptcy or any involvement with other clubs and there is no evidence of that. "The other issue is whether the prospective owner has enough money to fund the club in the next couple of years and if the Saudis don’t, then God help us all because they’ve got more money than the rest of the planet. “There have been some parties trying to link the owners with the piracy and I think that’s the only way that any potential Premier League prevention of the takeover might take place but there’s no evidence of any linkage.” https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...pert-explains-delay-newcastle-united-18244673
And there you have it. If the PL are worried about piracy, they will allow Saudi ownership knowing that they will stamp it out. PIF is buying us to make money. They will therefore want the best commercial TV deal to maximise revenue. A Saudi TV bid does just that.
Sounding very good. All the recent 'interventions' emanate from one place - Qatar. This is motivated by money and saving face. The Saudis are about to steal BEins thunder legally.
They hate each other huh. The Qatari's trying to flex their muscles. The Saudis are like - look at that skinny runt.
For a lot of countries their greatest weakness is ambivalence. If you simply don't give a **** about the noise they make, they cant stop you. Henry 8th figured that out with the Pope. Literally was like "well, im the king." And the pope was ****ed
