I see Kashoggis wife has written to the supporters now. I do feel for her , but the harsh reality is that the fans care more about the football and their own selfish desires than they do about her fiance being murdered or human rights . I feel bad for feeling that way, but it's the truth. I can't help but feel we should be opposed to this takeover. should we ? I suppose if it wasn't us it would be another club, so I'm happy to support it.

    her letter to fans

"I know that many of you are tempted by his offer to get out of the dire situation that has crippled your club for so many years.

“But the Crown Prince is accused of ordering Jamal’s murder. All credible investigations have shown his responsibility. He has not been put on trial in his own country as he controls it with an iron fist.

“My plea to you is to think whether accepting Mohammed bin Salman’s offer is really the right way out of the despair for your club and city.

“How can it be when your club will be controlled by someone who should be tried for murder, as we would rightly expect for anyone accused of killing a loved one!

"We should also never forget that Jamal’s murder is amongst many atrocities ordered by the Crown Prince and his inner circle. It is widely reported that they have imprisoned and tortured several opponents and women’s rights campaigners, killed and maimed countless civilians in the Yemen war, and even persecuted the Crown Prince’s own family members."

She went on to say, “Please consider where this takeover could leave you in the months and years ahead as a club that could become a ‘home’ for those accused of murder and torture, and forever have to compete for football glory under that dark and ominous cloud. As I’m sure we can all agree, that should not be the legacy and destiny of Newcastle Football Club."

It will certainly be a case of 'support the team, not the regime', but then we are probably one of the fan bases best practiced at that. Anyway, at the end of the day it's not our decision, which she must know, so, valid as her grief and outrage is, this letter is still more of a publicity thing. Why is it not a letter addressed to Mike Ashley? Also suggests that her side are thinking it's going ahead.

Bad things are gonna happen to this lady if she doesn't stop with this one woman tirade like. Nothing has ever been proven about the Crown Prince ordering anything....allegations yet again. Widely reported that they have imprisoned and tortured etc etc...again all allegations with no proof.

Bet she hasn't left an address for us to send replies to !

Nobody can dispute what happened to her husband was brutal, from what I've read he was hardly whiter than white himself and whilst that is no excuse, his fiancee will no doubt point to the fact that he had made changes in his life for the better and to try and redeem some of his past misdemeanours/decisions....yet she is ignoring the fact that this Saudi group maybe trying to do exactly the same thing. They might not be but they have certainly made some steps in the right direction...who's to say that won't continue and the publicity and exposure of owning a football club (especially our football club) would demand such steps.

The hypocrisy is unfathomable. Someone let me know if there is an RSVP address on said letter please, i'd like to send her a present, she can gaan **** herself :-

My thoughts when I started reading it. Didn't get to the end.
She's publicising her cause, that's all.
