I watched Cardiff draw 0-0 with Leicester yesterday and I thought they played relatively well to hold on to the point. The whole reason why I watched the game was I thought I would try and see who there main threats where and if they are decent enough. I found that although they are nothing like the team they were last season, they work hard and play well together. There two stand out players yesterday where the right back McNaughton and Peter Whittingham. Whittingham has a terrific left foot, and is certainly deadly from set pieces, also seems to be there only threat in midfield. Cardiff did suffer a few injuries yesterday, Conway twisted his ankle in the first half who was replaced by Robert Earnshaw, who played 10minutes then pulled his groin and was forced off, so Gestede came on, and also got injured. That left Kenny Miller up front on his own who didnt look anything special at all. Injury to Hudson too saw Gerrard partner Darcy Blake in the second half. So it all looks good for City when we play Cardiff on saturday as they may have a number of players out injured, and I wouldn't be suprised if we didn't beat them! UTT
Cheers for the info on Cardiff, i don't think they'll give us the run around like they did last season and will be a lot closer game. Gerrard will hopefully get some warm applause before kick off.
I hope Ant G gets the welcome he deserves. "Gerrard!! There's only one Gerrard, There's only one Gerrard, There's only one Gerrard!"
I hope Gezza gets a great reception. I also watched the game yesterday, and I thought that Whittingham and Gezza were the stand out players. It will be a difficult match on Saturday, which makes Doncaster a must win game tomorrow. UTT
wouldnt hold your breath, taylor and brown got luke warm receptions at best, thats one area we lack class in completely.
I actually think both Taylor and Brownie would get good receptions if they came back to the KC now. It was just at the relevant times, Taylor was perceived to have run off with a prettier girl and Brownie was perceived to have just messed things up for a year. Time is a great healer and history will remember both fondly.
