    He’s coming at it from the wrong angle imo, so his criticism is wrong.

    The scheme being extended is a good thing, and the fact it’ll include the ability to get some staff part time in line with demand, is also the right thing to do.

    Yep the Gov are saying employers have to make up the balance to 80% .

    Edit : umm now seems unclear just employers will have to contribute so **** knows <laugh>

    Tbh the government have done way more than I thought they would do to make it possible for employers not to sack staff.
    It is the reason that millions have not been left dead in the water. Some countries such as India and America have seen unbelievable amounts of staff lose their jobs.
    For all the criticism they deserve I think this is the wrong thing to have a did at personally.

    Sky now changed the page and are now saying 80% until end of July then 60% until end of October with employers expected to make up the other 20%

    think the confusion was as they were saying staff would still get 80% of their wages without detailing employers contribution .

    The number I keep seeing is 8bn so far.

    14bn a month and its easier to pay 60% I suppose. <whistle>
