Good chance a 2nd wave will take hold in a few weeks, with all the 'relaxing' of measures of late.

Hang on - really? You are really saying the FA just threw a ****ing bomb into the Prem saying that they won't sanction null and void, but they know the Prem could ignore that? That is what you're saying, isn't it? So what ****ing point was there throwing that bomb in if, as you suggested before, the bottom six have lawyers advising them who'll say 'Nah, the Prem can overrule their sanctions'? M'lud, with respect, I smell ****ing horseshit. :emoticon-0142-happy

A few #smallclubs tried to take advantage of the crisis by getting relegation scrapped for some reason. The FA have told them to behave. Now clubs can start having sensible discussions.

FFS Astro, he means the last 38 games played that doesn't have an outcome of Liverpool winning! Oh, soz, I mean the fairest way, thousands of people dying, clapping for nurses on Thursdays, fluffy kittens, upholding the law...

But evidently the FA were bluffing and don't have any authority over the Prem. Or so it's said. Did you know of this this? Was this the same Prem that once re-wrote their rules to give us special dispensation to enter the 2005/6 CL? I get confused sometimes. <confused>

You’re so one eyed when it comes to matters of the cult, it removes any semblance of objectivity from your noggin.

Firstly, the RS were always going to get the trophy, whether via playing out the games or via the * ending. So park your bias for a second, as your bit is done.

The FA have waded in, as the rumours of the neutral venue solution not having the required 14 club majority were likely correct. So they’ve reportedly said, vote for it, or it’ll be PPG as we won’t sanction anything else. So what’ll happen now? They’ll vote for it, and if the games get played out without the virus curtailing it, then that’s that.

However, if the games don’t get played out, and the league has to then agree on a defined outcome that includes relegation, then that’s a whole different matter. As there’s a different outcome dependant on which PPG model is used, will this be passed by the PL majority as being both fair and of sporting merit? I’d hope my club wouldn’t back it, as despite the fact I’ve no time for WHU or Villa, it’s simply not right in my book.

I think what Tobes is suggesting is that the PL might vote to disband itself rather than play a season with relegation as usual?

Surely best to agree the PPG model now as part of the restart plan rather than suggest clubs can keep proposing new plans any time something changes?

It's the police who say neutral venues though. They'll be giving every player a coronavirus fine for non-essential trips and tasering the black players in the car park.

Maybe that’s the intention of the meeting next week, to agree the neutral venue ****e and a contingency should the games fail to complete?

You think they’ll get consensus on PPG?

They didn’t all vote against it, in fact I’m not even sure they’ve actually had a vote yet.

I think the home/away weighted PPG is the blatant choice given how much these clubs have whinged about the important of home advantage. To change their tune now would be ridiculous.

I wouldn't argue with that, but the word there is 'sanction'. They just null and voided null and void - they have said they won't sanction it. To my untrained mind, that implies the FA have power of sanction over the Prem: they will only accept playing the season out, or a final table based on this season's sporting merit (as UEFA have said too for entry into their competitions). So, to be clear, if the programme cannot be played out, are you saying that if the Prem does not decide which is the fairest method to conclude the season, they'll simply say to the FA that it can't be concluded and is there fore null and void?

Okay - your move FA; what do you honestly think happens next, even if brave Everton are one of the clubs that refuse to propose an ending? Do the FA just give up? And what was the point of the FA saying null and void is null and void then if the Prem don't have to comply? Never mind their own lawyers, I think perhaps they should have consulted you if this enormous gap in their strategy exists. :emoticon-0112-wonde
