There you go. It won't/can't play out, no point. All but two teams will be in favour of ending it which is the 14+ majority needed.

so you still think they will announce before the season concludes? I'm not so sure about that. It might make more sense for them to wait.

To be absolutely clear there will almost certainly be no "8 games" to play. There are too many teams opposed to playing the season out as it now must include relegation (if DPP's right about the FA comments).

That means it'll go to a vote. Play at neutral venues and for 8 teams to risk getting relegated, or end the season now with 2 teams going down. Which vote is going to get the majority, I wonder.

EDIT: The FL has proposed a Rugby League style PPG calculation. Which (obviously) yields the same result as a basic PPG calculation. Which (obviously) yields the same result as the current standings. The clear problem is the stupid ****ing play-offs. So the FL should just accept they're morons for never changing it and nobody should go up in 3rd place, only 2 relegations per division.

Christ, it's frustratingly obvious and the only solution, plus we're absolutely guaranteed to arrive there eventually so I just don't know why they don't grow some bollocks and make the call.

Does everyone still think it’ll be this week mate it’ll be announced?

I’ll be turning grey by the time I get to see Staveley again.

Most clubs are going to vote against the neutral venues and it’s not possible to play home and away for a long time. So the only alternative is to cancel the season.

    Are you dreaming?

I initially stated that Bob was not in the top layer of players who had ever played for us. That still applies.

I have never tried to say Jackie Milburn at the fitness levels of the 1940’s and 1950’s would have been capable of playing in today’s game. Jackie Milburn trained to today’s fitness levels would and did have the footballing talent and abilities to have been a success today and would have been the proverbial mile ahead of Bob in playing levels.

George Best on the same assumptions would IMHO be the best player in the World ahead of the likes of Messi and Ronaldo. They have played on billiard tables Best played on mud baths and beaches. Messi and Ronaldo would likely have been great players in the 1960’s and 1970’s as I would expect they have the ability and commitment to adapt but Best was simply that, the best.

To simply state Bob is better than Tony Green (which is where we started) because he was fitter at the time he played misses the point about great footballers in any era. Talent and commitment are the pre requisites and if they’ve got that they would likely have been great in any era. Tony Green had both in abundance. Bob didn’t.
