It's not often I get accused of being younger. I started (as a schoolboy) in the 62/63 season - so only saw Holton when he returned three years later. Even then, at 36 years old, he was a great player. 68/69 was/is my favourite season even though it was only Third Division football - I went to every match, had some fantastic away days...
Me too The best away days were 5-0 at Gillingham and 1-0 at Swindon The worst was 2-1 at Luton, I guess the long term hatred stems from there
It is immoral to force players to play under the current circumstances just to complete a season for financial reasons
I seem to remember reading somewhere that when the Premier League was founded a legal agreement was made with the Football League that at no time would relegation and promotion be scrapped. It would create a very interesting legal case if the season were to be abandoned.
Both great awaydays - especially Swindon. A particular favourite of mine was Barrow, just before Xmas. Great craic in the Working Men's club beforehand, great craic on the terraces and a great win for us. That was the match that convinced me that we were going up, even though the season was only half over.

There seems to be two health problems with footballers health wise All footballers are at risk of lung damage because of an asthmatic side effect of being super fit so the virus is a major problem for them The majority of deaths in the Care Section are ethnic minorities so black footballers are facing a double whammy if they return to football too early
Really -- I thought they are generally considered to be ok and would'vw been well protected from serious risk of the virus causing major harm. I was thinking players would be more worried about vulnerable family and friends whilst not seeing them for a time. Mind you guess that is the same for many people
I guess any athlete operating on max.. Has to be super fit for a short period of time.. Which means they have less resources available to fight a virus? There are stories year on year of groups of players at one club or another getting a flu bug. Additionally, all are human and yes worried for themselves and their families... Scrap the season..... Life is more important....!
Not if your team loses most weeks ! Liverpool fans will enjoy it but everyone else will be very much dependent on how their team gets on. And there will be many whose morale depends on more than football!
Well no or even miss out on European if you are one of the top teams. All put into perspective of course but like you say I cannot see West Ham fans thinking: "Oh well, nice to see some football even though we went down"
To be honest, I don't remember any trouble at the match - and I was standing right behind the 'missed penalty' goal, just a social distancing gap away from the Swindon fans.
