Wonder how long it took to come up with that.

 

Was just about to post the same picture and similar words.
However the thing that is interesting is the phrase ‘limit contact with other people’
That suggests you can have contact with other people, but not too much. Probably there so they can introduce the ‘bubble’ idea (a more favourable one than at Huddersfield I must say)
See what is said tonight, but more interesting than Boris waffle is the actual guidance/law that follows.
As far as I know they haven’t yet repealed the current legislation so until that happens, or it’s amended, nothing can change anyway. Presumably they’ll do that soon to allow different businesses to operate if nothing else? They’ll certainly have to in order to extend social contact to larger numbers of people if that’s what they’re planning with the use of the word ‘limit’

Reckon that's carte blanche to do more or less whatever you like, the only bit that's anywhere near enforceable is the 2m bit. Responsible people will carry on much as we have been, many others won't.

Of course those who are not semantically challenged and have an eye for detail might think the addition of "if possible" to the 2 metre requirement does herald an element of individual judgement which could give rise to some confusion.

Any context to this please?

Initially assumed that the numbers were weeks of the financial year this year vs last, but struggling to make sense of the 9th January date.

EDIT - sorry see it now that it's calendar year vs last 2 years data, and therefore very interesting...

Maybe they* are moving from Continous reinforcement of that part of their message about the NHS to Intermittent reinforcement? (*advised by the behaviour science people - operant conditioning / wearing a bit thin for some...)
