Rather than pick which horse I think was the best I'm taking the choice literally (ie which would I choose, as that is much easier) 1970s Mill Reef 1980s Pebbles (my wife will kill me as Dancing Brave is her all time fav) 1990s Lammtarra 2000s Dubai Millennium 2010s Enable
Hi fellas!well,my View is a Bit different,as my 3 all Time favourite Horses just about ran all in the same Time Space, the 9ies.they were Double Trigger,Persian Punch and further Flight.these three Horses were hard as Nails, and would run through a brick-wall for you!those were the Golden stayers times for me,and i have many fond Memorys of them.. by the Way,all 3 are Flat Horses,so its quite Ironic, isnt it?

He was a brave horse old Persian Punch. 2001 & 2003 European Stayer of the year. In winning the 2003 Jockey Club Stakes, Persian Punch stamped his courage for all to see. What a horse.
Probably my favourite UK stayer was the magnificent Yeats. European Champion Stayer 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009. At age 8, on July 19, 2009, Yeats made history when the won the Ascot Gold Cup for the fourth time in four years. I don't know much about the legendary Ardross and whether he was better than Yeats, but I do know that the latter was some horse.
I think Ardross was probably a better stayer, and he did finish 2nd in the Arc. But Ardross could never beat Le Moss (even if in later races Le Moss had to give Ardross weight).
Any maybe Tam ha s claim too. Sagaro was some serious horse. And how great is to see the brilliant Lester Piggott sitting as cold as ice? First, the wonderful radio call, (recommended) then the video.
Same as Jannabelle 13, but substitute Shergar for Dancing Brave. If 60's was included - Vaguely Noble
