Interesting points. Seems that the rest of Europe and Asia has realised that they have to live with it now, with targeted lockdowns for vulnerable groups and that the damaged economy is long term worse. There has never been any good reason to stop someone from fishing, for example. This was unnecessary use of power.

As an aside, having had no lockdown hasn't saved Sweden's economy. It's actually in one of the worse conditions now in Europe. A result of high personal debt, sky high house prices and the main issue of it being a50% weighted manufacturing export economy. And as the world's not buying, Swedish companies have not so many to sell to. So they're screwed as well.

PM has changed his mind about the planned ‘Stay Alert’ slogan after everyone has been slagging it off. New one getting released tonight makes much more sense.

I think the government taking advice from Prefab Sprout is definitely a step in the right direction.

It's really quite gratifying just picking up a prescription from Boots or wherever and taking round to a person who really needs it. The pharmacy staff are always appreciative and the recipients just can't thank you enough. I think it's a real worry taken care of when they get their meds. The food parcels are pretty basic but I think it's a relief for some just to see a smiling face. I try to have a bit of a chat from the garden gate and ask if they are ok.

Somebody told me you get paid to deliver these things, I thought it was an act of charity.

We are just doing this as an act of community service. We are at work but assigned to helping out the community who need assistance. Our industry is quieter than usual so we have plenty of resource.

    No worries Kemps.:emoticon-0148-yes:

It's just that we have a huge transport fleet so the top brass offered to deliver anything essential for vulnerable people. We've been doing it all around the East Riding.

Every time I hear the R figure being ‘around’ 0.75 or whatever what I hear is ‘we don’t know exactly, we’re pretty much guessing’
In fact I’m sure when they said it was 0.7 a while ago they said then that was an estimate.
Surely they won’t really know until enough people are using the contact tracing App, or something similar?

Great call from your employers I think. In a way lots of public sector organisations are doing similar with staff who are at work, but doing different things like prescriptions etc.
Good luck to you, stay safe

The new rules tonight will allow us to do exactly the same as we have been able to the last 7 weeks, just worded differently

Its only confusing and difficult to understand if you don't like Boris or are mentally challenged - it would be interesting to see a Venn diagram of that , I suspect it would be a single circle <laugh>
