    Of course it’s a mixed message ffs. The Govt advisers patently advise the press that Sunday will see a reduction in lockdown measures, the press run with it, on the eve of a BH that was going to good weather. So some people have thought ‘**** it’ it’s winding down on Monday anyway, so what difference does a day or 2 make.

    But that last bit doesn't relate to people being confused by mixed messages, it relates to people not caring and using any excuse they can.

    No. They said Sunday would result in an announcement. Yes, they hinted things will be relaxed from Monday. Today is Saturday. For remainder of post re-read last post.

    Perhaps it just creates a mixed message for those who don't understand what they read?

    From what i've seen there are two groups you really shouldn't confuse, within the human race, that it appears it is difficult to get the message across to;

    1. The unintelligent people, that you really shouldn't cofuse with mixed messaging. By saying on a Wednesday in Parliament that they are going to make an announcement on Sunday, despite the leader of opposition, requesting it is brought to the house first. Then the government have to do lots of back peddling.

    2. The intelligent people, that think that the rules don't actually apply to them, because them or their family will do what they fooking want anyway. And they hide behide words like common sense , because they think they know better than everyone else. Special people.

    Oh there is a 3rd group

    My point is it's not a mixed message - There might be a loosening on Monday, you must stay at home this weekend. Seems pretty clear to me.

    Anyone who is thinking in terms of 'well it might end Monday so may as well ignore now' would have been out and about this weekend anyway. Loads have people have been for about two weeks anyway.

    Around a quarter of the populous are as thick as ****. They therefore have to cater for the lowest common denominator. Why leak that they’re going to reduce lockdown restrictions on the eve of a BH? Do you think if they’d have said **** all, apart from hammering home the same stay at home message, and then announced whatever they intend to tomorrow only without the week lead in they’ve given it, that the actions of people this weekend would have been the same?

    Almost certainly yes given the VE bank holiday and the weather. I have been seeing signs of people slipping for over a week now, well before papers reported "some slackening".

    Captain Pugwash might be going on about me, asking when pub gardens are going to open.

    I don't think I suggested that was going to happen, but who knows <laugh>
