I suppose we should award the 1939-40 league title to Blackpool, given they were top of the pile when war broke out

Nope sorry there's some unwritten rule that it has to be a certain number played apparently. The "pass mark" of games played being dependent on whether Liverpool were top of the league or not at the time. Tough **** to Blackpool but them's the made up rules, soz.

The police also talk about fans flouting restrictions when football restarts and that this is a concern for the authorities, but I believe we would have more control over supporters playing at our own grounds.

After all, Liverpool were emphatic their fans would be sensible and listen to club instructions when their own mayor came out against a return to football. If Liverpool wholeheartedly believe this when they are 25 points clear and on the brink of a first title for 30 years, I’m sure all other fans would follow suit.

No vote on Monday, cynic in me says they know they don't have the numbers.

Yep, need to have played more than 3 games. Sorry Blackpool.

I’d take my megaphone down to Vicarage Road if it would help relegate them.

Unlucky everyone with all your memories of how 15 years ago something big happened on the last day of the season, [HASHTAG]#bbcsalford[/HASHTAG] have [HASHTAG]#exposed[/HASHTAG] the myth of the run-in

"Looking at title winners, Champions League qualifiers and relegation, an average of just over one of those changes every season during the run-in - that's 11 differences in 10 years, and only two in the past four."

2014-15 after twenty nine games Leicester were ten points from safety. 15 years ago blah blah talking out your arse mate. You're simply or of touch with what football is actually about.

Remember it well ... most of us were prepared to take going straight back down on the chin because the club was still moving forward ... but during those last 9 games and the next 38 we ****ing bossed it ... <cheers>

Sorry mate but astro has you going down that season for being too poor, it's utterly incomprehensible that you could turn around a one point deficit let alone ten points. We're going to have to award the title the following year to Tottenham instead.

It's why I mentioned form this morning ... we had a bit of a blip but had definitely rediscovered our mojo as our mauling of Villa in the last Prem game before lockdown showed ... this **** shower came at completely the wrong time for us ... likely done 'Pool a favour given they were collapsing having only win 1 of their last 4 competitive games ... :bandit:
