I think that Mancini has been told by his fabulously wealthy owners that he is to make Tevez suffer the humiliation of watching games from the bench. I think they are toying with him, making it known that they will not be held to ransom. Perhaps he is being made an example of to all the other City players, just in case they get any ideas about dictating to the board how and when they should be permitted to leave the club. As much as I know that City's owners are destroying football, a large part of me has a lot of respect for the manner in which they have dealt with Tevez.
I think that City are trying to improve their image as a global brand and he's been removed from the spotlight, as he scares children.
Did you watch the way he 'warmed' up before coming on against Napoli? I think that shows how much Tevez really wants to be at City these days. Oh and another note it truly is scary how a club like City can easily cope without a player like Tevez when you think about his talent and the wages he is earning.
PSG, Malaga, Real Madrid, someone else with a stupid amount of money? He's an excellent player, but I think that his relationship with Kia Joorabchian is damaging his career, now. He'll be remembered as a talent, but it's unlikely that he'll be remembered as a true great.
I love the way it is reported that "he wants to leave the club," like it's an earth-shattering revelation. Yes, we know he wants to leave, you dim-witted hack journos! That's not the issue though, is it! Try reporting on the fact that, despite (or perhaps, even, in spite) of what he wants, he's being taught a lesson by his club, who have, no doubt, informed him, that he is under contract to them and that he'll do what the hell he's told, whether he likes it or not. You've got to admire that stance.
I've absolutely no doubts that they wouldn't. They'd have been forced to sell him for next to nothing.
What makes this so sad is that Spurs were told by countless people that we were ruinning Modrics career by keeping him.Whereas ManC are basically telling Tevez we own your arse and do what we tell you to.Don't get me wrong i have never liked Tevez as a man,coz it's obvious that he has always been a money grabbing s****.Just goes to show how money really has ruined the game.

I don't blame City for this. It's all Tevez's own fault. He had the chance to go back to Corinthians, which was surely the best scenario but they couldn't afford to pay his wages. He should've just taken a ****ing paycut, multimillionaire footballers in South America really don't need that much money and if he cared so much about his family money would not have been a problem. Tevez and the money men around him like Kia Joorabchian have created this mess all on their own. Maybe we can get him on loan in January
Remember we're just making the assumption that he is being punished for his attitude/stance. Whilst there is a good chance of that there may be other reasons why he isn't playing, such as simply that the other strikers are considered to be in better form at present. It's always worth taking a step back from time to time otherwise we end up drawing conclusions based on false assumptions and next thing you know Iraq has chemical weapons ready to deploy in minutes. So overall I'm not completely convinced by the "being punished" assumption, though I wish it were true as he seems to deserve it. Although I'm all for any option that causes dissent in the ranks, as it seems like an internal implosion is more likely to hurt Citeh than can be done to them on the pitch.
It would be hard to drop either Aguero or Dzeko on current form really, wouldn't it? It just shows how much money City have spent when their back-up strikers that started the Carling Cup game were Tevez and Balotelli. That's about £70m for the pair, which is more than our entire team against Wigan.
Well said. While I agree it's not certain he's being punished, one reason to do it if you can afford to is the message it sends the other players. As for the January loan, I think as long as Man City is willing to pay all his wages, it couldn't hurt. He's likely to come in handy at some point.
I despise his club, and everything they represent about what's wrong with football. As for Tevez, himself - I don't know, and I don't give a toss!
That was taken out of context - the actual quote was along the lines of "When my contract with City runs out, I will not stay in Manchester to play football" (the actual full quote is in the current issue of WSC, which I don't have to hand)
