I'm a Liverpool fan and I would just like to say that most of the Liverpool fans who regularly use this forum (at last count about 30) quietly disappeared soon after the lockdown started. We all have family and job worries like everyone else. My nephew was blue lighted to hospital with the corona virus. He has thankfully been discharged and told he will be unwell for up to a further 12 weeks. Football is hardly important at times like this is it.

There are one or two Liverpool fans who post on the PL board who don't actually post on the Liverpool board. I don't know what they have been saying on the PL board as I haven't been on there. I can only speak for myself and from my observations. I know a lot of Liverpool fans as I've been around a while and I can honestly say that those in my family and friends and others I know haven't had a single football discussion since football shut down let alone making a fuss about the league positions etc. I have been reading several LFC fan forums for a couple of weeks to get a feel for what the general mood is amongst other Liverpool fans and there is no general consensus on trophies, whether or not the league should be played out or anything else. People are struggling with life at the moment. The club itself have been silent in general and in the PL meetings particularly. I can honestly say that the clamour about awarding places etc. is overwhelmingly coming from rival fans. I don't have any social media accounts but I do get sent links from various people and some of what's being written is horrific all over a game of football.

As a long standing Liverpool fan you get used to the hate, it's water off a duck's back but the toxicity of late is being taken to another level. It truly saddens me seeing fellow football fans bringing up Hillsborough and the like. There really is no need.

With regard to the football, what will be, will be. I'm not going to lie, football is a big part of my life and I can't wait to watch it again when it's safe and healthy to do so. I really miss it.

Keep safe everyone, look after yourselves and your loved ones.

    Nice post
My comments were about a couple on the general PL forum who are driving everyone nuts and they do not go to matches but watch them on illegal streams
Lets all hope true fans can attend proper football matches in the near future
    Stay well

Thanks for the reply. I was browsing, not something I do often and landed here. I just felt the need, rightly or wrongly to put forward the case from a Liverpool fan's perspective. No hard feelings. What a game we had against you btw. Have a soft spot for Deeney <ok>

That was our game of the season
Deeney is a real throwback to the Alan Shearer days

Age difference showing there - I would have said throwback to the Cliff Holton days. :)

Scott Duxbury has apparently summed it up nicely.

Everone is in it for their own self interest.

And jumped on the no neutral ground campaign.

Think the bottom 6 have one point of view and the rest another.

Why can they not play at their own grounds like they will be in Germany.

Do the police have that much little faith in the average football fan ?

People will meet up at home to watch games anyway.

And I can see people generally just thinking well if footballers can play so can I in the park.

There are plenty of folk around who appear to be genetically programmed to ignore rules and regulations - these being a prime example.

I would not be surprised if I were the older one here BB
I never got to see Cliff Holton at Watford, football was not my main interest in those days, I stated watching the 68-69 season

Big Cliff was my hero. Teenagers did have heros, and I still put him up with the Luthers etc. What many don't realise was that he actually was the manager as well in anything but name, but only a part-timer. Lovely man and a great footballer.

Dynamo Dresden's entire squad have been put in isolation for two weeks - just a week before the Bundesliga restart.

Surely this whole idea of playing football must be in doubt.

The team are saying that all training is now suspended for 14 days. It is unfair on them to play a game without doing even the basics.

True - it's all going to be messy.

Only needs a team of players to refuse to play or break the guidelines as well.

Sign of the times and attitude some have ( on Twitter ) that they think Brighton are making their players having Coronavirus all up to avoid playing the season !

Yes they really would do that ...

Football isn't that sick and self centred surely ?
