Thing is it would have been my "work chair" as I was being supplied with lightweight chairs thru the Access to Work scheme
Yeah - like I said, there are good and bad road users of all descriptions. I must admit that sometimes as a pedestrian my awareness slips and I find myself on those cycle-paths that run alongside in some places. Your penultimate sentence highlights a problem. From the things you say, you're obviously a careful road user, but I think a lot of riders will take risks they shouldn't because of an obsession with testing themselves and improving performance.
i was always worried when searching for for chairs on the net when i was at work after all a link to Quickie Helium is just as likely to be a Lithuanian "actress" as a wheelchair
deffo not recommended at work since all actions were logged in fact one system was considered so sensitive if you had the required access level you could obtain a print out of every key stroke a user had made in it . Still didn't stop some eejits though .
thing is i bet the people who whizz past me think that but imo they are wrong but there again they never give me any warning unlike you with Mr Happy .
I wasn't going fast, a little quicker than he was walking (obviously, otherwise I wouldn't have passed him). I'm actually very conscious of others when out and talk to everyone I see (thank you or say hi etc) Edit: when I was a kid, I rode into a dog. It walked out a gate as I was going passed, neither fault, just a freak accident, but been more observant ever since.
thats part of the thing with me as i will have the dog with me and even when they can see it , or would if they were looking , quite a few riders don't slow down or go further round us . I swear sometimes the first i know is the wind as they fly past often within 2 feet .
20 miles tonight, pleasant late evening urban ride, legs felt good, average cadence of 90 ... nothing significant to report, there was a speeding Audi that blasted past me quite close on one stretch of dual carriageway because it was racing some other German car that was in the right lane, but uneventful other than that, lots of bunting and flags all over houses for VE day, smell of bbqs, pretty sure I saw some people using the small beer garden at the back of one pub ... no I didn't make it to Latchford, although now there's a thought. Riding music was the new Code Orange album. Didn't take my wheels to the bike shop as I forgot it was bank holiday
Lots of decorations and people on front gardens around here. Unfortunately, it was clear to see that a lot weren't maintaining social distancing recommendations. They were mostly drinking too so it would have been worse later on
