Although my wife's just come back from Tesco with beer, two bottles of wine, a bottle of gin and a litre of whiskey so one might indeed dabble in a few beverages later.

You'll have to be quick mate, thirteen years of my wife not liking more than a couple of glasses of wine a month and now she's waking up thinking of G&Ts <laugh>

Absolutely this. And to think that some people think that lockdown is due to finish on Sunday. I think the next couple of weeks are going to be potentiality very dangerous. I'm due to return back to work and I'm really not looking forward to it.

A lot of the whispers in the last day has been that lockdown will be extended. No idea if that's because Scotland and Wales have announce a continuation of lockdown which has cornered Boris a bit or if it was his plan all along, but it would definitely be for the best.

I truly hope so. Over 600 death's today means that we are nowhere near out of the woods on this.

Exaggerating the costs of lock-down ( reluctantly introduced by Bonko far too late as it happens), and playing down the risks of getting back to normal too quickly, is I think just a softening up exercise for what's to come on Sunday, we will soon know.

Sadly those lives are beginning to look like a number in a chart for most people now. You would think the value of life would become more apparent in times like this but I fear it's gone the other way.

The virus has the upper hand at the moment.

We have no vaccine, no cure and only the avoidance of human contact to keep the death toll down.

Allowing people to go out to be infected doesn't seem like a great idea tbh.

It’s getting very similar to when another bomb went off in Ireland you didn’t even look up from your tea.

My comments on the handling of covid 19

Over the past 10 years at least 2 war-gameing exercises happened, from what can be gleaned not many of the recommendations were implemented ..

Not enough PPE stored nor home grown suppliers identified

No capacity for testing was arranged

No action to close borders or an immediate lockdown..

    No action on Care Homes

So for several weeks from the start of the epidemic, mass events took place, people came into the country 'seeding the virus' into all corners of the UK. The PM continued to shake hands and ended up in hospital with the virus, seriously ill.

The chancellor did act coughing up lots of cash, so when lockdown was eventually brought in people did not starve or businesses fold.

Atm, it seems the virus is at least checked from increasing and is going down in places..
But could start up big again quite easily..

However the treasury is running out of money and businesses and the economy is about to tank!

The govt it seems wants to risk or is willing to allow another 30,000 deaths to save the economy..

    This ploy has been rumbled..

Spot on. People are becoming desensitised to the number of dead. Anything under 1,000 is just ignored, it seems.

For context, if we had an average of 600 deaths a day for the next 6 months, that's almost 110,000, and 140,000 in total when added to the deaths that have already happened.
