Apple's and Android's methods involved no information being stored by Apple/Google themselves. They recognised privacy was crucial to the public trusting them and using the app. The Tories just gave the contract to their relatives and said they can store all the information they want. The Tory app has already failed the standards test but that's okay because it's "only" being used to track the Isle of Wight for now. They promise to improve the privacy violations before it's used on the rest of the UK...
People would rather get Coronavirus than let the nasty government see what porn sites they flick through on their phones... Breaking news lads, there’s nothing on any of your phones that they can’t take if they want it.
Very true, I sat on a jury one time, and the police just go to the providers (if that's the right word) and recover the data, so they had all the transcripts of text messages etc. Have people never seen the facility on emails, where if you delete something in error, you can still recover it. Generally the population have sleep walked in to sharing their data to any number of government organisations. I think what I find disturbing is when you are persuaded it's for the good of everyone you downland a specific app, especially when it's a government voice telling you to do it. Enforcement by coercion.
The problem we have in this country is the sheer number of *****s who wouldn’t populate the data required so it’s not even worth doing. I don’t see how 20-30% of the population sticking to the rules of this app, makes any difference, it’s a waste of time.
The app does not protect you from getting coronavirus There's also a difference between the government using powers to get your data and you deciding to just hand it over to a private company for the fun of it
as Astro pointed out it is a bit different having a court give permission to the police to go through your details , i assume the security services have the power to do this thru internal authorisation , and some private company .
Some also suggesting the app doesn't even work unless you constantly keep your phone open and unlocked. All because the Tories wanted to hand the money to their donors rather than participate in the international standards.
It’s nothing to do with police, they have very limited powers anyway. My point was if you’ve got something to hide, then it’s not hidden no matter how much you want it to be. Couldn’t care less if the government know what clothes I’ve been looking at and what the Mrs spent on the Mastercard. Astro is a dogs cock, google extraordinaire. Rather talk to a brick wall than that plastic divkid.
Forgot it was Thursday. Just put my bin out to a round of applause. Twigged and had to start clapping. Ffs.
Had chicken parmigiana tonight. Was really nice, roasted baby new potatoes and broccoli. Credit the Mrs, no pics though soz. Drinking Pinot Grigio with it, which isn't the best choice when it comes to white. With ice though so, gay as ****.
Mrs told me that when she went out for dinner with her group of friends, one of her closest friend’s fiancé told her to shut up in a snappy aggressive way. I actually wouldn’t mind if he had the balls to say it to her while I was present but I was sat at home babysitting, so that’s a coward’s act imo... so I’m mulling over his options in lockdown.
