We are mate ... she does everything with us ... holidays in France ... couldn't leave her out ...

 

Surely that's the idea.

If it was announced on the usual Thursday, it could lead to bedlam amongst those not quite getting it (confused, bizarrely) over the bank holiday weekend.

So the announcement is Sunday.

Is it really that baffling to carry on as we are until Sunday?

 

You also said theory.

 

You take her on a plane? (The dog I mean!) Or do you only go on driving holidays?

Yes it is confusing. He should have said nothing....why did he say anything at all, because he wants to make his BIG Churchill speech on Sunday. Convenient VE Weekend, very convenient. So people will do what they want, I can see it being a problem for the police in densely populated areas.

 

But not your theory, yours is a guess, yes?

There are currently government guidlines. There will be some more after Sunday. In the meantime it's as you were.

That's it really, I will believe what is actually said, not the speculation (theories and guesses).

There's two things here. One is the fact he shouldn't have hinted at anything before the announcement. It put Raab in a tricky position and he ended up repeating the same comments which made things even worse.

The second is whether we're even ready to ease controls. I'd like anyone who thinks we are to explain why other than the fact it must be driven by the economy?

 

I love a good road trip. But that’s why dogs are more hassle than they are worth, always get in the way of living your life the way you want. **** having any pets tbh despite how much I like animals. Having to go on trips that fit with the dog sounds like hell to me.

The mantra of ‘lead by the science’ has in reality been ‘lead by the PR opportunities’.

Last week we had Hancock fudging the figures to try and hit his self imposed target of 100,000 tests per day. By adding in 40,000 tests that had gone out in the post. He didn’t hit the target and he’s not hit it since. Only did it really matter? Would being honest and saying, we’ve got to 80k tests from a few thousand, but we’ve fallen short of the 100k by the date we set, been such a bad thing? I’d have respected that honesty personally.

Now we’ve got the Govt obviously leaking snippets to their press allies about what’ll be shared on Sunday, whilst ignoring Parliament protocol and sending out a message before time, that lockdown (such as it’s been) is over. The weather this weekend is going to be good, and people are going to use the VE BH to get lashed and by tea time social distancing will be in the bin.

On my trip to the hospital today I noticed way more traffic than the last time I was out (3 weeks ago) and one shopping road was like a normal day. Shops open, people everywhere, pavements packed.

 

Exactly, he shouldn't have said anything.
