Is everyone just as confident this will go through? I think it’s 50/50. Feel there’s just as much chance of it falling through as there is it going through.
We just need to be patient. If there was a risk of it not going through there would be 'leaks' somewhere. There isn't and according to any journalist with a relationship with the buyer, everyone is relaxed. The piracy issue is not within the scope of the Premier League fit and proper test, and our prospective buyers know that. The Premier League are under no rush to make a decision so they will take as long as they want, and as long as it takes to make them feel comfortable. Don't forget that they're all having to work remotely and their main focus is elsewhere. The government support it and there's been no legal wrongdoing. It will be fine. We do worry don't we....!
1) Why would the buyers be in a massive rush to get this done? Income has temporarily dried up, why would you urgently need to take it on? 2) Why would the PL rush? They're under pressure to take a moral high-road, have to be sensitive with how they approve and have one or two other things to deal with. 3) Why is there any doubt? A contract, signed by Mike Ashley and Amanda Staveley, currently sits at Companies House with a clear stipulation of forfeiture of monies should this takeover not happen. 4) Where's the negative news? Journalists frequently form disorderly queues to kick Newcastle United and its' fans - there'd be a queue longer than B&Q during a pandemic to stick the boot in if there was the slightest hint the takeover would fail. Patience is lost in the internet age. No sooner will the takeover be complete than we'll be climbing the walls waiting for Bruce's sacking, Rafa's appointment, the arrival of Koulibaly and Coutinho, etc. Indy will be bringing RELENTLESS bullshit rumours 10pm every night - as I've said before we're one of the worst for rumours even under Mike, Christ knows how bad it'll get with a sprinkling of Dhirams and some ambition. Chill the **** out.
It's done. Signed, sealed. Now it just waits be delivered. That is down to the PL. Piracy - Irrelevant. Premier League handbook, Rule F 1.5.3 with reference to schedule 1 outlines criminal offences to be considered during the test. There needs to a conviction for copyright infringement contrary to s. 297 Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 in UK Court, OR, criminal conviction under an analogous foreign provision in a 'competent' foreign court. No conviction against any member of PIF, or the Saudi Royal Family. The test is strict. They will not fail any test due to piracy as they have not been convicted of any offence. Chill out. It's done.
Newcastle United are the last great uncut diamond in the PL. It just needs cutting and polishing. The diamond has been there all along but nobody has wanted to spend the time, effort, money to show that jewel in the best light. ** The following is meant as a joke ok ? ** A Diamond will be used on the tip of a huge metal pole . The owners will get what they want from whatever the pole / diamond recover from mother earth . Then the Diamond will be thrown away .
