Seems that you aren't allowed to question the government. They're too superior for that and you better watch your tone if you have the audacity to question them.
Just to interject a modicum of good news; After a bad week, my brother, although still in hospital recovering, survived his engagement with Covid-19. Thank you all for your support and good wishes , believe it or not but they really did help and that's no lie!
It seems that if you don't congratulate the government on their 'success', you're a wrong 'un and trying to destroy the nation ... ... or, what we used to call democracy in the olden days
When this is finally all over and an inquiry is held into how the UK coped I hope that it is chaired at the highest level, the Supreme Court, and there is no spin, no party politics just the facts of how the Government has failed the population. They've made so many mistakes and every one has cost lives. They didn't react soon enough to the impending crisis, anyone watching what was happening in China could see what was needed to be done. Total lack of leadership from the top down, Boris bragging about shaking patients hands in hospitals. Lack of PPE equipment for medical personnel. Why don't we carry a stockpile? Allowing sporting events to continue. Cheltenham Festival, European Champions League fixtures. Announcing that pubs and clubs would be closed in advance of closing them. Late in enforcing any form of lockdown and therefore social distancing. Poor testing program and constantly setting targets for testing and missing them, tell the public the truth at press conferences. Seemingly abandoning care homes. I'd be surprised if there were no calls for Prosecutions of Senior Ministers and Health Officials for the way this crisis has been mishandled. When you look around the world at how first world countries have handled the pandemic only the USA have matched the UK for incompetence at senior Government level and the common denominator in both countries is the leaders are buffoons. I watch the news from the UK and what I see saddens me, I have loads of friends and family in the Durham and South Shields areas. I hope the whole world learns from this, especially the UK because this can't be allowed to happen again.
That’s a hell of a lot better than the eight or nine hundred of a couple of weeks ago. Early days, but promising signs hopefully. Nobody’s been in my house for two months, I haven’t been to anyone else’s. I’ve been to a shop once. Can’t wait to hold our new granddaughter. Another couple of weeks hopefully, which I can cope with. Big announcement on Sunday apparently.
The govt need to answer to their actions - they and the people need to know that it will happen - but I think it has to be when it’s all over . If we start saying the spread “ all because of govt actions”. death toll “ all because of govt actions” etc. our idiot element adopt that as “ see, it was nothing to do with our actions of going out , barbecuing, going round friends houses - we have no blame and therefore can continue to do as we please “. Our situation may be worse than it could have been - but finding the place for the blame doesn’t make it disappear - everyone still has to play a part , annoyed of not and idiots included
According to the BBC live feed the government bod has said he wants construction to start up. It never stopped, just slowed down. They have also downgraded their PPE advice and distancing twice in the last week to suit the workability and availability of ppe
It's just so bloody obvious isn't it, I'm not an educated bloke but ffs it's so pathetic. The Breakfast News interviews with ministers are like some weird 1950's game show. 'OK, you have 5 minutes to totally avoid answering the question ... .... starting, NOW!!! '
It's blatantly obvious that they want people back to work and will just write off those that are infected and/or die as a result as collateral damage. They see themselves as General Melchett sending us Blackadder and Baldrick's "over the top" in WW1. I thought the first responsibility of any government is a duty of care to protect the citizens they represent. Is it true that they were knowingly sending Covid19 infected care home residents back to their care homes from hospitals to free up beds?

So essentially the govt has made a right bollocks of suppressing the Coronvirus by not acting quickly enough or decisively enough at the start. Lockdown has now been in place long enough and the economy is going to get screwed unless we get back to work. More people will die cos lockdown is being lifted, but that is okay as it only be poor people, BAME and the elderly...so no biggie
They've done some good things but made a real mess of most of it tbh ... ... I thought this cabinet would be perfectly suited to this crisis but I was wrong. The big problem, in my opinion, is that people like Hancock are money driven and would be fine in a 'Brexit situation' but poorly focused now. He studied economics, was an economist at the Bank of England before becoming chief economic adviser to George Osborne. Not exactly a carer
Prime minister's questions was a thing of beauty today. Starmer using the government's own information against them. Not that it will make a difference of course, all those "labour supporters for my entire life before Corbyn" who are incredibly quiet right now will find another reason to back Bumbling Boris.
Got to feel for the doctors and nurses all their hard work and the press loving that we have the highest death rate in europe must feel like theyre getting a kick in the under carriage ,well ive just been studying the coronavirus worldometer and per death rate per million people per population the uk is 17th in table bet we wont see this on the news// parasites One for the bashers to chew over
