Neah. Our defence is solid anyway. Its our attack that's letting us down. We could potentially get any of Mertens, Cavani, Willian on free transfers. We could pick up a player like Rondon for 15-20 million. The rumour I heard a few weeks ago was £60 million + player sales. We might get an initial cash injection, but I think the bulk of it will be going on developing the training and youth facilities.
Obviously it'll also depend on the manager and their team. But clubs will see we have money and we won't get value.. There are only 3 players in our current squad who I would say could be top 6/8.
I found this one. They have already signed up one of our our legendary posters to do a TV show there. I hope he has cleaned up his act a bit as his favourite pastime will not be easy if he gets caught drinking.
No because Ashley would say there's 60 million + player sales to spend. He would allow 45 million to be spent, tell the manager he needs to save some back for the winter window and then not spend any of it or get players on loan and the money from player sales would magically disappear.
If they want a top level manager they are going to have to provide a firm committment of funds for player purchases I would have thought. £60m ain't a lot of money even factoring in player sales. You would have to sell some of our better players in order to make some decent wedge but then what's the point in that. We want to keep them and build a team around them. We ain't gonna get jack **** for the dross we need to shift on. Mertens, Cavani or Willian on a free would be vastly better than the quality we have currently in those positions. We wouldn't need to spend a massive amount more to get us challenging the teams from 10th up to about 6th place in my opinion, we've given the teams above that a hard time of late playing ****ty defensive negative football (30% possession or less), imagine what we could do with a completely different approach and some shrewd choice additions.
Disagree with Lascelles and Longstaff. I wouldn't get rid as long term good back up but they are not first team top 6
Both Utd and Liverpool were interested in Lascelles a couple of seasons ago, Sean Longstaff has been wanted by Utd for the last 2 seasons, reckon Matty Longstaff could go to a top 6 club too.
Barclays unfortunately when they act as an intermediary bank with international transfers. It sometimes takes a few days for international transfers to appear irrespective of where they come from.
