Teaching staff are still working with the children that are in a family of key workers or children that are too vulnerable to be at home for such an extended period of time.

We’ve got around 25-30 children still attending. I know of another school that still has 200 of its 600 pupils attending.

We have similar system here although both parents have to be certified key workers, unless there is only one. Vulnerable children status doesn't exist in the same way, as child services here have a lot more power and so pretty much any child considered to be vulnerable is taken into care - this has caused a lot of legal challenges in the European Court of human rights.

I did make a mistake, grades 1-4 have restarted, but the older students are off until after summer and graded using coursework and predicted grades.

I'm not really sure why you get wound up. I give my opinion and explain why. Some disagree with me and that's fair enough. I don't take it personally. I've not insulted anyone or used offensive language, so why get upset. Assuming you're an adult, you are able to just skim past and ignore what I write if it causes you distress.

We seem to be our usual trend bucking selves. :emoticon-0103-cool:

COVID-19 is spreading faster on average in larger cities with the additional implication that, in an uncontrolled outbreak, larger fractions of the population are expected to become infected in more populous urban areas.

Is there one thing that would make you think we're back to 'normal'?

For me, it's being able to wander to pub and have a pint. Everything else is trimmings.

Israel has isolated a key coronavirus antibody at its main biological research laboratory, the Israeli defence minister said on Monday, calling the step a “significant breakthrough” toward a possible treatment for the COVID-19 pandemic.

The “monoclonal neutralising antibody” developed at the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) “can neutralise it (the disease-causing coronavirus) inside carriers’ bodies,” Defence Minister Naftali Bennett said in a statement.

The statement added that Bennett visited the IIBR on Monday where he was briefed “on a significant breakthrough in finding an antidote for the coronavirus”.

It quoted IIBR Director Shmuel Shapira as saying that the antibody formula was being patented, after which an international manufacturer would be sought to mass-produce it.

First week of January felt like never before. Tight chest, coughing and every bone in my body ached. Lasted about a week.

    I reckon I've had it.

There seems to be more indications that it was around before the new year. I wonder if more people have had it than they think. Only an antibody test will tell us.

This was asked on Question Time on Thursday and the answer was the incoming passengers did not have an significant impact on the statistics. Absolute load of rubbish really but there you are.

My partner came back from France mid November and was extremely ill, then I picked it up and have never been so ill in my life, at the time we just put it down to extremely bad case of flu, but looking back who knows! We both had very similar symptoms to covid19 but obviously at the time knew nothing about it...

I recently heard some theory/hypothesis that half of Manchester has already had Covid-19. Reason being that residents of chinatown in the city are mostly from Wuhan province originally, and had been travelling back and forth for a good month or two before any lockdown was introduced.

Probably bollocks but I do like to think the nasty cold I had in January was really Coronavirus and that I'm now immune!

After 6 weeks of lockdown I'd guess a lot of people are now looking for reasons why they are immune/had it before/anything else they can think of that means they can get out and about a bit more, including me! I fear it might be over-optimism though. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Wuhan's a city, rather than a province (it's in Hubei province) and though Manchester is twinned with Wuhan, I doubt a significant number are from there, they're mainly from Hong Kong.
