Noticed last night, some of the players faces at the subs and the way the team were being asked to play. Ross McCormack's comments on SKY also appeared to suggest that having to score 2 or 3 goals just to get a point, isn't acceptable, especially when it happens on a regular basis. McCormack also stated that he is playing well and scoring goals because he is confident and this comes from not being taken off almost every game. Can't help that was a dig at Grayson and the coaches. It appears to me that some of the senior players have lost faith in Grayson and his backroom team, in my experience, you can never return from this. Bates won't sack Grayson, it would cost too much for a start, so we could have this problem for some time, until Grayson himself accepts the time to quit. Sadly, Grayson, it's time to go.
You should watch the game again, this time watch the players and their reactions to things. People's response to things tell you everything. As for played well, utter nonsense, we didn't get the real Brighton against us until the 2nd half, and we capitulated when that happened.
Don,t agree Bob although it must be very dispiriting to score 3 away and not win in my opinion the central pairing of Bromby and Odear were absolutely useless at best it was so easy for their front 2 to get behind them the sooner we get a defence coach the better.I,m not sure getting anymore defenders would help it simply down to bad coaching.Snodin needs replacing
IF,but we haven't. IF we'd had good central defenders last season we'd have got promoted. If Grayson thinks bringing in O'Dea is the answer then there's no chance of our defence being sorted out. Danny Wilson would be a great addition & Liverpool want to loan him out to a Championship club. It's so frustrating as I like the way we're set up attacking wise. Grayson needs to swallow his pride & get George Graham working with the defence. He'd soon sort them out. The sooner the better.
I'm not disagreeing with the defence, they are woeful, I'm referring to the manner to which the players reacted to things Grayson did and comments made after the game, it looks to me like certain players don't gel with Grayson and this will only increase as long as we are playing the way we are.
CAN'T COMMENT AS I WATCHED THE MATCH AT my local pub and couldn,t hear a thing but I was pleased with the effort put in by Mac and Keogh who obviously loves LEEDS so Simon has got his support my personal view is he gets the best out of the freebies he has to getbut then I have only been involved for 60 years!
If you get the chance to watch the game again, watch McCormack when one of the subs for Leeds is put up on the board, he's standing on the pitch near the dug out and when the board goes up, he clearly shakes his head in a disbelief manner, he then looks bewildered at the whole thing, If this doesn't say something about the players and the management, I don't know what does.
Saints fan in peace. It,s always disappointing to lose a 2 goal halftime lead, but give Brighton a bit of credit - not many teams will go there & win this season & Mickael Smith is a handful with a lot of pace. Your team could easily have thrown in the towel when going 3-2 down but they didn,t. I think you do need good central defender though. I,m sure you will not be far away at the end of the season.
Grayson has not lost the dressing room, get over yourself Boab. But I think you are in the process of losing the forum pal, you used to come on with some good points but recently you make daft comments and claim facts that you never back up, usually based on Snoddy as the next big thing. Give it a rest and get behind the team, we are free scoring and only in need a a centre back and defensive midfielder, not a manager. He tried to get Woody and Smudge back but failed, and I trust he missed out on others as he is no fool. As for Clivetime, what makes you think Grayson is not a great manager. Facts; He left a very good Blackpool team he built to manage us in League One He has got us promotion out of League One He has made Howson captain He has brought through home grown players He has used loan market to send players out Becchio Somma He lead us to doing Scum in FA cup Etc Short, short memory some of you so called fans. ....
If loaning players out makes you a great manager then there's a lot of great managers. And don't give him credit for Becchio who was a McAllister signing who Grayson dropped in favour of Billy Paynter.
No idea what your going on about, the fact is I have stated my opinion on what I saw, that's what forums are all about, if you don't like it, then argue back, but I will respond and stick to my guns if I feel I am right. I stand by what I saw and believe there is not the harmony in the dressing room, many would like to think there is.
well said billyboy, everyone's entitled to there own opinion, the body language in the dressing room certainly is not right...
i disagree. I havnt read what mccormack said on sky, im assuming it is the interview on the pitch after the game which i did watch and mccormack said the reason for his success was grayson basically. He massively praised the manager. I think people are trying to look for excuses and picking up every single little thing and speaking as if its bigger than it is
I think some need to heed some of what boab is saying-Im not saying that he has defo lost the dressing room, but whatever he said or did to those players at half time at Brighton caused a complete turn-around. We were sharp, quick ,dangerous on the break and didn't let Brighton get a sniff. Even in the last 10 mins of the half when Brighton applied pressure, Bromby and O'Dea looked assured and passed the ball to take the bite out of Brightons attack and slow it down. So even the two CB had a good 1st half. When the lads came back out some of them looked the complete opposite, and the two CB were simply awful. I'm not saying he's lost anything, but I've not seen a team go in and come out that differnet in a long time, and I'd love to know what was said/done in those 15 mins
Could it be possible they thought it was job done (famous last words)? I know the manager's job is to keep his players motivated when in front but it's easier said than done (when you're cruising in a game. it's very easy to become complacent.) Leeds switched off for the first 10 minutes of the second half and let Brighton get their heads up and start to play like they can. By the time they got themselves sorted it was always going to be an up hill task. BUT at least Leeds kept on going, if that's a lost dressing room after the equaliser went in i'd love to see a together dressing room!
My father in law knows a bloke at Thorp Arch and he told me before season started that morale was at an all time low, and the hierarchy expected us to really struggle in the first 6 or so games. I told him he was talking tosh at the time and laughed at him to his face, but now I`m beginning to wonder if an apology is due..................
