Because what’s blindingly obviously the right thing to do, and what’s legally watertight are very rarely the same thing?

It's laughable that we are suggesting playing the remaining games at neutral venues... with no fear of relegation.

So, Liverpool have already effectively won the league and we can't relegate anyone. What in the holy **** is the point in playing the remaining games?

Just end the goddamned season, and in fact, follow the French and relegate the bottom two.

Billions and Billions and Billions. Nothing else happening in football and a bloke who paid half a billion for a £50m painting can't get a deal over the line

GHB is right. Basically, the PL is looking for a way to get all its' money from Sky/BT whilst not having to pay out damages to the bottom two. That is in actual fact the ONLY reason the season isn't already finished. It has **** ALL to do with the safety of players and everything to do with PL greed.

They need to just grow some balls and say that the season is finished. If clubs threaten legal action use overseas leagues as precedent. Liverpool were not going to get caught. The thorny issue is relegation. If needs must then promote West Brom and Leeds and no relegation.

Not wishing to blow my own trumpet. I've a law degree and work on the basis of evidence. The evidence from Companies House convinces me that this is real. It fits and the logical conclusion is that we will be sold.

Deals over the line. Premier League can't sign documents, too many whining pissant babies all over the place bringing up every single possible problem to scupper the deal.

Good to see the Everton fans are casually coming onto our board to have a little peek though. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Mate, if he's got to pass a test from the ****ing clowns at the PL, who dither and dally at the very best of times, then he's as stuck as the rest of us. The hilarity of it is they won't fail the test. They didn't fail the test for a Chinese money-launderer. They're just a pathetic organisation driven by money and greed who are spending all of their time with lawyers working out the best way to protect their money. The re-vote and re-vote is designed to get them where they want to be. If a majority vote to cancel the season, they're protected, so they'll be after that outcome but in the meantime all they're doing is repeating the results of PL clubs' votes - the PL itself has to look impartial.

What we need is for the ****ing dipshits at the other 18 clubs to vote to postpone the season. What's baffling to me is Charnley is apparently "strongly in favour" of finishing the season - what the **** for? We're still at risk of relegation, and if the season ends we can be sold quicker.

Fair enough, but I'm saying people (in general) will always have doubts. I'm confident, but until it's official I have a doubt.

They won't, because they're not the same as France. France's Ligue 1 is still its' FA's tournament. Our PL is a greedy ****ing corporate with no interest in little teams. There's the issue - because our FA were so ****ing spineless in the 90's, this **** is now un-manageable. PL's decision is dictated by the big four clubs. The issue there is Spurs and Arsenal aren't happy with where they are either.

I'm sure there's a financial benefit to our current ownership in playing the remaining games. Since the club is all but sold, they will desperately want to eek out every penny they can while not devaluing the club.

I think every club is the same - it's a legal stance vs sponsors. Everyone will want 25% of their money back - shirt sponsors, season ticket holders, catering companies, kit sponsors, ground sponsors. Clubs don't want to give a penny back, particularly our parasite. We're in it deeper because so much was outsourced, so we'll probably 'owe' a lot if its' cancelled. Charnley's strong objection tells you this is true - he's Ashley's bean counter so he's bound to be staring aghast at the thought of refunds. So if all games are played, there will be nothing in a contract to say "stadiums have to be open" or words to that effect, then clubs can just say "see? we played the season".

It's all just about money. All of it. I'd even guess that any losses incurred will be deducted from the purchase price of NUFC. Charnley/Ashley will want to stretch it out past takeover so they get the money, and it becomes PIF's problem. If it was about washing their hands of the club and nothing more, we'd probably already be sold.
