i might have had too much of a splendid evening
Had a bottle of a 2013 Navarra with our Lamb but then we decided another bottle seemed a good idea . For some reason i feel a tad under the weather today .

Me and red wine have proper fallen out. I used to love a nice drop of red, but the last 3 times I’ve had just one glass, I’ve ended up with absolutely chronic heartburn. It’s like losing an old friend :(

I suffer with terrible heartburn. There are a few reds I can drink. They tend to be the really rich dark reds. Like a Bordeaux, gran cru. If I try drinking cheap wine in a pub it’s like drinking acid. I can’t drink white wine as it’s even worse. Though occasionally I can manage a drop of Marlboro estate Sauvignon blanc.

That’s interesting as I’ve always really stuck with the lighter reds, so Merlots, Cabernet Sauvignons in the main, I might try a decent Bordeaux then and see if I can stomach it.

I used to have a filter that removed the tannins as well. Order one. Though as said generally better the wine the less heartburn. I drank a decent £10 bottle of Cotes du Rhône the other week without issue. Other one I can manage is a Spanish red called Sangre de Torro. It’s about £7 a bottle . Lovely stuff.

Never been a big wine person but spent a week or so in Bordeaux for the Euros and drank it by the bottle for lunch and dinner. Was superb. Blinding steak and a bottle of red for 20 euros.

Shame we bought tickets before the groups were drawn and ended up with Wales’ first game and Austria v Hungary which was a bit tasty.

All the supermarkets and DIY places around here have stopped the queuing system, what's going on?
