Bill Shankly has a lot to answer for with his "Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that." quote. Some on here, and football in general, seem to have taken his comments literally.

Bottom 6 aren't happy about the neutral venue idea either.

    Anyone considered this;

    Forget next season.

Restart this season where we left off, next February. With crowds.

Finish the league and the remaining cup games, have the euro's in summer, then it's onto the season after that.

Seems like an eternity away though of course. Lower league clubs won't survive without crowds anyway so may as well just mothball till then.

The money involved means that will never happen.

Not to mention the fact it would be like a new mini tournament anyway given it would totally change the form, fitness, age, players etc of every team.

So, all comes down to money.

I knew this anyway, and the idea of the players having to be paid for missing a full season kind of made it unrealistic I suppose.

What's hardly been mentioned as well is whether clubs will think of refunding the money for the matches ST holders will miss this season, if its finished behind closed doors.

Personally, i wouldn't be asking for that money back as I don't want to kill the club off but I bet some do.

I've already paid for next season too, if that starts behind closed doors then I will expect a refund on the games I miss.

    Pathetic opportunism from Brighton.

"How can we expect to beat Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle without the comfort of our home changing room."

You weren't going to anyway <laugh>

    Do you have evidence
Quite right. Lower end end clubs never beat teams in the top half

If anything Brighton benefit from all their #sixpointers now being at neutral venues. That inconvenient truth doesn't fit their agenda of getting relegation taken off the table though.

If the bottom six don't want relegation then how about they agree that the additional payments for promoted teams can come out of their cut? Surely it's about integrity and not just money for them?

If you take relegation off the table then they might as well call it a draw when those teams play each other. Who’s going to watch Watford v Norwich with no fans and nothing riding on the game?

I’ve only got a couple of games’ worth of unused tickets- one home and one away. Would accept it as credit for when it resumes but no chance I’m just writing it off and it’s only £120 or so.

I've got 90 quid and might just let them keep it if the right thing is done and the season is abandoned. If they push on with playing it though due to the finances being so important then I'll probably decide that actually, that money is quite important to me.

I'll probably go for a kick about if we're still getting nice weather. If it's alright for them <whistle>

So that's £90 from Libby to abandon and £90m from Sky to continue. Tough call.
