Met Akram as well. He was just waking round the city centre and Shoib Akhtar. He was in a nightclub. He looked pissed.

Kapil Dev was another for me.

Him, bBotham and Imran Khan, with Richard Hadlee thrown it, around the same era when I was a kid.

The issue with the concept as this thread on Facebook is that I was a child when I had heroes. When I was a teenager I just had sportsman I liked. Can’t say I looked up to any of them in the way I did as a child.

as the ones I’ve posted I had posters of in my room. When I was a nipper. When I was a teenager I had posters of naked birds or bands.

Met Clive Lloyd, Michael Holding, Colin Croft and Viv Richards when I used to play junior cricket. They all played at my local club at some point. Clive Lloyd has enormous hands. This is when West Indies were an absolute monster team as well, Lloyd was Lancs captain.

Have met a clearly stoned Viv when pissed at Edgbaston too, mithered him a bit.

Nearly had Holding in ahead of Ambrose, was a close choice.

I think Viv Richards was with ambrose when I met them. Not often you literally bump into 3 7ft black dudes round here. I bumped into them when I walked out the bank. Ambrose came into the boozer I worked in as did all the others as the touring test sides always had a warm up game at new road. The Aussies were a right laugh. One of em tried to chat up my bird of the time. As did Ryan Giggs once. The ****.

Didn't Richards have a spell at Worcester with Botham, or have I imagined that?

After a spell in the Lancashire league with Rishton I think! Mad how he was there.

I don’t know to be honest. I went and watched Botham once. I got my bat signed when he was injured and in the private hospital near my house where my mum worked.
