Don't know but why don't you go and ****in find out before uttering what could be absolute horseshit ya fud.
Because it isn't there. I'm open to the idea of there being a god, but there's no evidence to suggest that it's true.
It was, I just thought that I'd allow you to find out for yourself, you know, as you're so open minded and don't like to take anyone's word for anything. You prick.
Are you havin a ****in laugh? The Roman Catholic Church was directly responsible for the suppression of everything even remotely sciency for centuries. It was known as the "Dark Ages".
not really. as i said i believe the motives for gallileo's house arrest were personal. the scientific bit was added to by the pope as gallileo and him were pals no claim about it, i do accept evolution, i also accept science and religion. and dont believe any is the enemy of the other i do however, as stated many times, differ with peoples understanding/version/interpretation of each
yeah the Roman Catholic Church. some if it wasnt as portrayed (as in gallileo imo was a personal issue with the pope at the time) and the RCC is not the be all and end all of religion, with respect
The church banned all works favouring the heliocentric model for decades, TFWNN. That certainly wasn't personal. If you follow science, then aren't you including yourself in this sentence:
my understanding is it was the opposite. the greeks appear to have done it The Romans made it illegal Islam did it and had strong supporters of it christianity is seen to have revived it at one point there were royal decrees banning it during certain periods, some were to 'favour' certain people criminals who had been killed were fair game but the supply didnt meet demand
