I wrote to him because he might have overlooked it. Do you have any idea how many people dismiss psychology as voodoo and rubbish? The personnel aren't the problem because we've seen them deliver on previous occassions. We've also seen countless new defenders come in, perform well at first and then deteriorate rapidly. Remember when we first got O'Brien? How many people were praising him and saying he was the best thing since sliced bread. After a while, he got worse, and now how many people won't give him the time of day? Either the training is absolutely terrible, which I refuse to believe because the coaches are, after all, professionals, or there is a psychological issue that has infected the club. If the backroom staff are good at the technical stuff, good at teaching it but give out even a slightly negative vibe or even just don't have a presence or ability to instill real, sustainable confidence in the players, then you have a problem. If the players aren't relaxing properly and allowing their minds to be cleared, they will never learn anything for any sustained amount of time. This could be the problem if there is no structured routine built into the training scheme that allows the players to relax and switch off in a non-footballing environment, and allow their minds to take their training on board. Over a prolonged period of time, this results in players forgetting things they already knew, because their minds aren't being exercised properly. It's all very complex and I don't claim to be an expert, I just know it's a big part of a strong team and psychology just generally makes sense to me.
Psychology is massive but how we gonna get out of this Rutt? while we are conceding we are nervous and expecting to concende meaning the chances of conceding are pretty high! Friday the first half everyone was awesome at closing down but the second half we seemed to panick and their goals where absolutely shocking and I believe Brombys second half performance is the worst ive ever seen!
We don't have a leader at the moment, which could be part of the problem. Naylor was great captain and got everyone up for the game, but Howson doesn't really do that.
oooh best fans thats a good point!!!...we need a new captain..who should it be??? I'd like Becchio but he's not always starting at the minute so hmmmm dunno
Leaders don't need an arm band to get things organised. We need to see what Lees is like as CB & see who compliments him or start to terminate CBs contracts to free up funds for some capable defenders, I know its a young back four and its constantly being swapped around which doesn't help.
morning sww! I don't think we have a single player who we could be a definite starter or who would stay on for 90 mins under Grayson. Even Howson doesnt always stay on, and struggles to influence the team when we need to dig in. Maybe if Mika is any good he could take it on with being a little bit older, but we'll have to see if he gets a game 1st.
Its just a lottery as to who plays at the back, almost silly now. I agree on Lees at CB and Conns back on the right, but Lees is far too young to captain the team.
Saw the boxing result and brief highlights, looked a right bout. Most impressive thing was Ricky Hattons physique.
Clayton maybe, but dont we need some one more experienced than him as hes only really in his 1st full season. Keogh is a loan player so pointless and as we are **** at the back McCormack isnt the answer either
or would play an entire 90 mins, keogh is a forward player, a position we dont have issues with, we need a captain who can lead the defence. The only certainty is Lonergan, from midfield to the back.
