Steve Bruce, where more popular managers have been scared to tread, he has outdone them all. Managers with better squads, but negligent in taking the FA Cup seriously. Embarrassing. The likes of Joe Harvey must be turning in his grave. A True Legend, only to be scuppered by Covid-19.
Well, it would appear so, and with a vastly more inferior squad. Stevie will come out of this with a lot of Kudos and respect. We can hope that should Rafa return, he takes up the mantle and builds on his achievements. I expect nothing less than the Double next season....
To be fair Bruce has done ok under the circumstances. I feel a bit sorry for him given the current situation. How many managers in any job has had no contact from there bosses in 6 weeks because of covid. Especially when there is a massive threat to his position. Quite how he has managed to not come out and slag the club off is quite admirable to be honest.
I can only speak for myself, but, since the lockdown, I've been alcohol free. Anyway, what announcement, Albert told me it was going to be Friday, and put my house on it! I'm now homeless
The man who openly admitted to using Rafa's tactics for half the season, because the squad was so well drilled that they refused to play Bruce's style. Then he changed style, started losing and then switched back to Rafa's style again. Spent a lot more money than Rafa did too on average, sanctioned the signing of Joelinton, that alone should be worthy of the sack. Had the luckiest Cup run in history. Based on rumours of players he wants next season (Ryan Fraser, Jeff Hendrick) , I can't wait for him to go.
My post was only to Chippy. I know you’re senile already and aren’t responsible for your actions or comments eg Chippy, Friday, House. By the way those cans of “pop” that you've been drinking...they have alcohol in them.
I would be more than surprised if Bruce didn’t do his homework before taking the job and, if so, the lack of contact won’t have come as any surprise. Plus he’s reportedly on £1M a year and I’m sure he’s not been furloughed so his £20,000 per week is some comfort for him.
I appreciate that there maybe a senillity factor in there somewhere, but please recheck the #5 which could be construed as both. Do you need a new zimmer frame yet?
I don't actually feel sorry for him, he knew what he was getting into. Good opportunity, but, unless he's hugely naive (doubtful), he'd be aware that if Ashley was to go, so would he. With a contract paid up, he'll do well financially and probably ease into another job. He knows the score, you live and die by the sword in football, remembering to keep your mouth shut and don't burn any bridges.
I think Ryan Fraser is pretty good to be honest. Push ASM into the middle and have Fraser and Almiron coming off the wings. Not the position I would choose to strengthen though in all honesty.
Never trust a man that doesn't drink because he can't trust himself. Ps..I've got a tent going cheap.
Don't know how anyone would feel sorry for a guy that ****ed Sheff Wednesday, Palace and Wigan off as soon as a better job came up but there you go. Weird rhetoric that's been pushed by the media that completely ignores his own history. Tell you what, I hope we get that run every year, doubt it'll take 180 minutes to beat two league one teams with a decent manager.
