Hancock seems delighted to have 'hit his target' after all this time ...

.... I always thought it was ridiculously low.

There's a million people work for the NHS.

Test them all today and and all need testing again next week.

This 100,000 a day figure is absolute nonsense.

I can get a test as I still go to work but it's totally pointless.

They dont let you know if had it and now have antibodies it's just a test to see if you have it there and then.

If you think you have it though government guidelines are to stay at home <doh>

Asking people to drive away, from a hospital they work at, to a testing centre is madness.

As you say the test is so short term it's almost pointless.

Pretty much as even if you have it they say stay at home unless really severe symptoms.

So why bother getting tested anyway? If you have it you have it and need to ride it out.

If you are really bad then 999 and hospital.

It updates every 24 hours so some things reset. Maybe the UK isn't supplying recovered numbers

I know of 3 people who have had it now all recovered like and one of them was my pals elderly mother who is overweight.

Glad shes pulled through like she was in the hospital for a few weeks.

Another one was a pal my age who I went to school with. He said it was the worst thing he's been through and couldn't even get out of bed for a week.

    Cheers mate

Brings it closer to home like as she would use the same shop as me and my family as live in the same area.

I should really buy beer in bulk to save trips to the shop but will drink faster if do <laugh>

I also do not understand why the UK is the only country not providing numbers of "recovered", makes me think they are trying to hide something.

Well I can give you the inevitable answer we get, from government ministers, on Breakfast TV, if that helps.

'We're currently precisely collating numbers so they're accurate.
We could announce them tomorrow but they'll have changed so more collating will be needed.
I'm sure people wouldn't want the government giving out inaccurate figures Piers."

    More likely...

"Well we were only given 10,000 pound to supply ourselves with the equipment needed to work from home.

After buying the kids new iphones we realised that we didn't have enough left to purchase excel

That pissed me off mind... 10k to work from home?

Bollocks they hardly pay anything as claim EVERYTHING through expenses.

I can claim 100 quid for a hotel and 25 quid evening meal and fuel 45p a mile that's it.

It's a tricky situation that can be construed in many ways I suppose. You might say that the lower pollution levels, reduction in car/plane/ train crashes and more family time is actually reducing deaths and lowering stress levels. I wonder how it's affecting people in prison.

The second wave will start shortly. Garden centres opened = ''its all over '' in some peoples minds. Tips now open = '' the lockdowns being lifted'' Back to work on Tues 26th means '' sod the end of lockdown, best make the most of bank holiday weekend'' - everywhere will be crammed with the idea of distancing totally forgotten. And announcing the wind down of Nightingale , some will now think there's no expected danger.
