To be honest it will probably be very similair to the google/apple app as the API has been shared between all parties to ensure the technology part of it works fine.

The reason we have gone on our own is at a guess to ensure that google/apple do not and cannot gain any possible backdoor access into the N3 network which is where our data will be held , the N3 network is the "internet for the health service" and only for them , it has layers of security and cannot be readily accessed without being on an NHS site or having NHS level security ... this will be whats being "developed" now to allow some for of access for peoples devices without comprimising security as everything electronic to do with patient data anonymous or otherwise has to be stored on the N3 network.

I think you're entirely correct. Where I live, the health service has used it's software partnership to build their own app, because to share health data with foreign companies is currently illegal. Apparently, the app took 2 weeks to create using a pre-existing framework, so isn't that complicated.

One of the early problems I understand from friends in the NHS was it was / is very bureaucratic, having to go through specific procedures, through specific times in the morning and or 3 or 5 days of contracting for yourself or family. Most people if feeling ill just didn't feel up to it travelling. (in some areas many miles).
Also the initial system missed out a whole wave of other essential workers. The new system seems to have cut through the bureaucracy so kudos for that.
Interestingly there were a number of tests across the country last week, in various NHS trusts to test how many staff were asymptomatic though carrying the virus.

Food is essential actually I heard. I've not had a takeaway but given how ****ing hard it is to get a delivery of food, I nearly considered one when we ran out food. The other option was to go out shopping, which isn't my idea of lockdown.

Takeaways have a role in extending people's supplies to allow them to follow guidance for appropriate behaviour while shielding during lockdown.

If you don't understand this, your head must have been buried in the sand for a few weeks.

    Still wouldn' touch McDonalds though

Found out yesterday that Covid-19 goes beyond the grave, was talking to a friend yesterday and he said that he received a letter addressed to his wife from the government saying she was highly at risk but she has been dead for 4 years.

Food is essential takeaways arent. I havent had any trouble getting food, use your butchers, fish mongers etc most are offering g delivery, and if people are worried about income I would have thought the last place people would use would be takeaways.
    Keep your head buried.

I may be missing something, but how's you using your butcher and fish mongers to deliver you food any different from someone having a take away delivered?

Takeaways arent essential and seeing some queues without distancing outside some of them doesnt help. The whole problem with the lockdown from day one was many businesses weren't forced to close. Many did of their own choice and are now reopening and a lot of the problems will start again.
Wickes only allow click and collect, whereas b&q have reopened and are allowing people back instore. I actually dont have a problem with businesses reopening, it's the ignorant idiots that shop in them or queue outside them.

    I'm really confused now!
    1. You seem to be saying it's ok to do click and collect, even though people queue outside in order to collect.
    2. It's ok for the butcher/whoever to do deliveries but not McDonalds.
    3. You actually don't mind who opens as long as people behave well and observe social distancing.

I think you simply don't like McDonalds and you're using the pandemic to have a go at them!

It's actually ok to just say you don't like McDonalds, full stop.

    As per Plum. No difference.

We were talking about delivery services, not walking up to a takeaway.

I've just spoken to a friend who is BA cabin crew. They've just landed into Amsterdam with a full plane 236 passengers, MOST of which were away for a weekend it seems... Apparently the flight to Nice was full too, but that will of been people going to their second homes..

Your not the only one confused lol, maybe it would be ok to have a take away delivered if the butcher brings it

Therein lies the problem for me. Initially, the guidance was very clear and unambiguous. The media are constantly giving mixed messages. Now they are constantly pushing for info around relaxing the lockdown. No wonder some are becoming complacent.
We have an advantage over the other European countries in that we are three weeks behind them. It means we can learn from them. Defenders of the government say well it's never happened before. Actually coming out of the lockdown has. Very recently. Learn from them.

I think that MacDonalds are perfect for drive through testing centres.
    Easy to find
Give your name at the intercom
Go to window one get your test kit
    Do the test
    Hand in at window two.
Two people, no need for contact and could run no matter what the weather. 24/7
