Sorry to hear of the passing of Trevor Cherry. He played in the first England game I went to. <rose>

Just shows not everyone earns millions in terms of the clubs or players.

You'd think the Premier league might lend a helping hand..

No, it is daft. 15 minutes while I walking around the supermarket with a mask on was more than enough for me.

    This bit annoys me -
"If training is resumed before social distancing rules are relaxed, BBC Sport understands players will be tested for coronavirus twice a week and would be screened for symptoms every day. All tests would be carried out by health professionals at a drive-through NHS testing facility that each club would have access to."

Money talks, doesn't it? It's not that I wish ill of them, but they are professional footballers, not professional health workers - there's no reason for them to jump the queue for apparently scarce resources that the rest of us are routinely denied.

Apprantley the clubs would have to pay for it and be done privately..

But good point - won't be a good look for the Government.

And I cannot see all players and staff sticking to the guidelines for 9 weeks stuck in hotels together with people they want to beat.

End the season already, and keep the lawyers out of it.

"The Premier League would also need up to 40,000 tests for players and staff if plans to play the 92 outstanding games behind closed doors are pursued."

This is madness. A single player tests positive and the whole team would have to isolate for 14 days.

I don't have any detailed info on this Frenchie - as far as I know it's 2 players and a physio, though they cannot be named over the media. Quarantine of 14 days is ordered, and return to group training can only happen when they have been tested again with 2 negative results. Ok. the testing is a new element, but otherwise this is nothing new because any player suffering from flu, or any other contagious disease, would be told to stay away from the rest of the group for a certain time. The Bundesliga is planned to start again on Friday May 15th behind closed doors. In contrast to the UK there is not the same shortage of testing kits here and so testing of so many players and staff does not raise the same political storm as it would in the UK - if the clubs pay through the nose for this and the money is generated back into the health system then it's a plus. For FC Cologne to test a player costs the club whereas I can get tested free on request. Most clubs are commencing training in the coming week.

The NRL in Australia is due to restart on 28th May and all clubs start training in camps from this coming Monday - in New Soth Wales. I'm not too sure how the New Zealand Warriors will manage that though - only Australian citizens and permanent residents are allowed into the country, and have a 14 day quarantine period to serve once back in.

Well if the Government keep the lockdown presume any action will have to be delayed.
