Its suggested that this is a combined total of tests completed and those sent out during the period .. awaiting them being returned for testing .. so although the number has been manipulated to achieve their target .. it is much better then a week ago and shows how they have increased capacity.

Why should home tests be excluded?

As they have done since they started home test kits and were advised to and agreed by all people involved , it has always been on the gov website about this and how it is recorded even if you take the 39k off the 122k it is still a massive step up from 50k (including home test deliveries) only a few days ago ...

It’s an impressive number by any measure, I think they can be criticised for not starting mass testing early enough, but having decided to make it a priority, they’ve ramped it up very quickly.

No real argument with that except for use of the ramped up phrase - surely government copyright on that (along with "sadly died').

I’m hoping things keep improving over the next couple of weeks, so I can prorogue my furlough.

GREGGS have reversed their plans to re-open their stores due to overcrowding concerns.... that and the fact they are perhaps responsible for a degree of obesity in the UK .... go figure!!!!!

6200 positives out of 73k people tested.

That says to me that a lot of the infections were being picked up anyway?

True , proof that the lockdown is working but to relax now would be criminal almost , see what the figures are like come thursday as on this trend we will see a continued downward curve which will allow a cog or two to get turning again economy wise ... I dont envy the people making these decisions I must admit

the problem I have is the false promises, just say they are ramping the tests up by as many as possible, instead of telling us numbers they had no hope of achieving, it’s just bullshit and blame shifting.

To be fair mate, they could have done 250,000 tests today and you'd still slag them off. <laugh>
