Will Kenny change up the formation that has worked really well the last two games? I am sure there would be a tweak here and there, Suarez top of the diamond more of a 5-3-1-1 I can see. Possibly flip him and Kuyt since Kuyt enjoys chasing down opposition and is a bit better defensively.
Play the same formation as Sunday with Johnson and Kelly given more license to bomb forward. If it ain't broke don't fix it! Maybe put Suarez up front instead of Dirk and stick Dirk in Maxi's place? Wouldn't want to change too much though
We've discovered we play best in a 3-5-2 formation, so I'd be reluctant to change it. Although, I think we're still working on our formation, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Kenny change it because it's a "relatively easy" (if there is such a thing) game. Although saying that I expect him to keep the 3-5-2 formation the same, it seems to negate the attacks of other teams but also means we have more attacking options. This formation is slightly different to what we played against Chelsea, but I think we need more attacking options as I think Wigan will be trying to be defensive then counter attack, so I'd like us to put a few away. -----------------------Reina--------------------- ------Carragher-----Skrtel-----Agger-------- --Kelly----------------Lucas-------------Aurelio- ---------Gerrard--------------Johnson---------- ---------------------Meireles--------------------- ----------------------Suarez------------------------ Aurelio is a better attacking LB then Johnson in my opinion, and I'd rather see Johnson on the right wing, but that would move Gerrard to the left wing which I don't think would suit him very well. Kuyt has been left out simply because I think he needs some more rest. He benefitted from some rest after he hurt himself, and I think he could do with some rest, possibly some shooting practice too I want Suarez to make his full debut against Wigan, he did well against Stoke and so I think that his first full game against a defensively weak team will do his confidence some good. I'd be inclined to push Agger and Carragher a bit further out wide because there is threat from players like N'Zogbia who will come charging down the lines. Overall I think that's a pretty good team and line up, it negates most of the modern formations like 442, 433, 451 etc.. because we effectively have 6 defenders, 6 midfielders and 2 attackers as players overlap in roles.
Kenny isn't going to drop Kuyt. I think he might have to move Meireles back from his attacking position if he wants both Kuyt and Suarez to be playing together. He might even turn the three of them into an attacking diamond with Meireles pushed slightly to the right and Suarez to the left. Either way, I'm liking how we now have lots of options under Kenny. Any formation and any line-up seems possible!
Think he's just "injured" until Saturday, shhh..... Skrtel apparently has picked up an injury with the Slovakia squad though
Gerrard's injury will have been greatly eased by a tacit ackowledgement by the FA that when a player gets injured pointlessly in a pointless friendly after assurances he wouldn't be played the entire game, then said player may be excused from the following pointless friendly. In this way the FA hope to avoid club doctors having to Twitter their anger at the rude disregard for club concerns.
Tough call due to Gerrard, Skrtle and Kelly bing injured. I dont think we have enough players to play with wing backs again! Reina Johnson - Cara - Agger - Auerellio Kuyt - Lucas - Poulen - Maxi -Mere- -Suarez- Actualy quite a tough call. I wouldnt be surprised to see Poulsen in though. I reckon 3-1.

At home against Wigan, well just a few months ago I'd be worried about this game, but now with King Kenny back and everybody uplifted I'm going for 2-0 with Suarez to get on the scoresheet.
