    Well said Chunks.
Whoever it is that is pushing for this resumption of top flight football they should be publicly called out, whether it be the clubs or the tv companies. The players don't want to resume so they should have the final say with a secret ballot or the government should just say no football until we have a cure or a treatment for the whole population.

My first ever match was 1st January, 1974 when I was seven years old. The feckers lost 2-1 against Notts County. They set me up for decades of disappointment

Have to say, whilst I miss the match day experience, I’ve not missed the football as I thought I would. Found loads of great stuff yo watch on TV and spent time with my family. Think I’m a lucky one in that I love spending time with the wife. Glass of wine, nice meal, decent film or series and away we go. Happy as a pig in ****!!!

"Players / Staff / Officials all tested and isolated - Where exactly are they going to isolate? Will they all be happy to spend 6 to 8 weeks away from their families etc in some random hotel?"

Liverpool players would be fine with it all.

Burnley players, who have absolutely nothing to play for, wouldn't.

Newcastle players, robbed of a possible Wembley appearance, would be furious.

    It's idiotic.

Been a few saying give Liverpool the title and relegate the bottom 3 etc. If you’re a relegated club due to this, you’d be fighting tooth and nail to ensure it doesn’t happen. Financially it could cripple some and put them out of business.

Yep netflix has for my grandkids and myself has been watched a lot.

I miss golf more than the football
Especially as i cannot see the difference between me going round the course as a one ball, and the walk I have just had round the village ?

You need to consider people who work in the hotels looking after them, transport to and from matches, etc... absolute madness to even consider it this early.

Cologne players tested positive for the virus today ...

... it's ridiculous trying to restart football in the middle of a worldwide virus that's killing thousands.

no way should anyone be putting themselves and others at risk of death to play a sporting fixture. even a PL game behind closed doors would involve 100+ people. its madness.

Having read the BBC sport article following yesterday's Premier league meeting it appears they are still going to push on with some ludicrous, half baked scheme.

One of the things I'm really struggling with it the claim in the article
"If training is resumed before social distancing rules are relaxed, BBC Sport understands players will be tested for coronavirus twice a week and would be screened for symptoms every day. All tests would be carried out by health professionals at a drive-through NHS testing facility that each club would have access to"

Now I may be being a bit of a dick, but as our testing capacity is limited and as far as I know front line NHS staff are not tested twice a week, why are footballers deemed worthy to it?

I think the country will slowly ease itself back in the next coming weeks

I've said all along June we'll see the vast majority of the country back to normal just not mass gatherings

Or the on,y way the football authorities could dee it

Season card holders who have the green light say off their doctor they've been given the all clear

    Even then restricted attendance

To be fair you said in March that it was scare stories in the media and that the virus had been blown out of all proportion.

Testing means nothing, either for players or spectators.

All it means is that you didn't have the virus two or three days ago ...

.... but you could easily be infected now.

Perhaps as football addicts since we have had to go cold turkey as it were. When football eventually restarts, we will not be that interested as we have been weaned off it and will not need the fix.

Instead we shall keep going for daily constitutional and come back and watch netflix, whilst ensuring the garden is immaculate?

Not forgetting eating and drinking too much!
