This is the same man who had his arse handed to him by the Deputy Chief Medical Officer when he tried to argue about antigen and antibody testing and got them totally mixed up, not only would he not acknowledge that he'd made a mistake he tried to argue that it was the DCMO who was mistaken and HE was correct - long story short, new arsehole ripped and Taxi for Peston - the utter **** him.

I have a theory. A friend of mine went to northern Italy mid-Feb snowboarding. By late Feb he and some of his friends had the virus. A lot of people from the U.K. go to the same region at the same time, and also at half term. We do a lot with China and there are also a lot of visits from U.K. nationals to China and of course coming the other way. I think the government already knew we were ****ed in late Feb. That’s why the herd immunity theory was talked about longer than it should of been, as it was seen initially as a best case scenario until it was estimated that 100’s of thousands would die. It was this herd immunity idea which delayed the lockdown discussions and resulted in the delay of any real action. I think we were always going to be one of the worst cases in the world. The idea to protect the NHS, and throw money at it has saved many many lives. I think the final numbers will be horrific, but a lot less than initially thought. Look at the amount of additional beds, equipment and staff mobilised, that hasn’t really been used. They believed that this was going to be much much worse and prepared for such horror. I feel the government, although too many have died, genuinely think they dodged a bullet. Luckily my friend was ok, as was his snowboarding mates, but I do know of someone that died today and another that was lucky to survive the virus. It’s been a very disturbed century so far.

If you can find a bag shop going bust and you can buy a load Gucci bags on the cheap, then holding them to sell later can make sense, but in the main, holding fashion goods in stock for any period of time is a terrible idea, the longer you keep it, the less it's worth.

Little point in asking the right questions, if you don't let anyone actually answer them. Morgan's a ****.

    I totally agree.
Suitcases and bags by real big name brands will hold a value and be worth storing.
I don’t know the fashion industry and its lead times, but my guess is that there will be less availability of for instance winter season stock.
I do wonder if there will be a buying frenzy in June and July.

There'll be a selling frenzy in June and July, there's billions of pounds worth of unsold stock kicking about and everyone will sale it, the minute the shops reopen.

There is an online buying frenzy now with even more people forced to change their shopping habits and gaining confidence and satisfaction in online companies and prompt deliveries, they are not going to switch back to the High Street in a hurry. High Street retail is going to struggle even more apart from corner shops where people have enjoyed going on dayly exercise walks and a social aspect to cafes people have missed?

There isn’t an online buying frenzy in fashion. Of course online is doing well as in most cases, it’s the only way people can buy stuff they need. The social aspect of shopping will still be there and I think pubs, cafes and restaurants will still operate but less of them and run in a different way.

Some fashion boutiques are adapting and innovating, for example Mimi Boutique in Hessle go live on social media every night and are selling more online in the lockdown than before it!
