I kind of know what you mean, but then I think of nurses and hospital staff putting themselves at risk in the frontline every day, and I think they deserve a show of support. I feel the same way about Help for Heroes, the forces charity. That’s a really cringeworthy name and I don’t know anyone who feels comfortable being called a hero, but if people are basically being sent to die for our country’s interests, then the least they deserve is to know that the rest of us are thinking about them. The government can **** off hijacking it all though. I’d love it if Captain Tom told Boris to stfu.
Having a 2 nurses in my family both in London (sister and cousin) they find the whole thing quite insulting that it actually pisses them off. Before Covid 19 the public continuously slagged them off how **** they are , verbal and physical abuse, our own government sent them down the river, no pay rise , no thanks ,**** all. Now the whole country needs them they're everybody's favourite people. Get ****ed !

Yea fair point, but being patronised is more insulting than being called something. He knows that hense why he does it. People are more likely to get triggered as there stuck at home bored currently. I'm not gonna cry into my crunchy nut clusters over it but just saying.
