Well, that will get the scousers fired up. Can we refuse to follow suit on the grounds that we have left the EU?
And because Liverpool haven’t won it mathematically (even though clearly they would) if they were awarded, it the likes of Man City could legally challenge the decision because mathematically they could catch them.
They'd challenge it and win. End of. Any other outcome and I'd just be done with football until I die.
I agree but why have the other clubs in Ligue 1 not challenged that decision? PSG are only 14 points clear with a game in hand, but the other clubs have 10 games left, so it’s nowhere near as clear cut as the EPL.
I’d be happy for Liverpool to be “given” the title. No matter what happens from now on anyway, it’ll always be known as the virus title. Just end the bloody thing.
I’m coming round to that viewpoint. Anything is better than trying to complete the season, it will be disastrous.
Maybe they will challenge it in time, because to me that's just complete bollocks. I agree with FLT though I'm tired and bored of talking about the league situation.
Eddie Hearn the sports promoter was on 5 live this morning and by comparison with football pundits he talked a great deal of sense. He should be compulsory listing for the PL and the EFL. To be honest he puts their money grubbing to shame. If you use this link he comes on at a few seconds after 1.55: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000hpq3 I recommend you listen to his plain simple common sense.
Don't you mean they won't get it. Wonder how much pressure was put on the LFP by the French Government? It is pointless squealing about the unfairness of it all as I suspect they would not consider doing this had they been in a CL position. .
You cant crown someone champions when they ain't even won it, but **** off someone elses claim who had the chance for European qualification. It's the same principle.
Does it really matter PSG have been crowned Champions in the greater scheme of things? The French have done it their way, so be it. What happens with the EPL remains to be seen. Whether Liverpool are crowned Champions or the season is declared null and void, a decisión needs to be made pretty soon. How can clubs properly prepare for the new season if this one is played to a conclusión? Something has to give, whether it is domestically, at a club level in the European competitions or at international level. My preferred option would be null and void, but if Liverpool are declared Champions then wonderful. I just hope common sense is used by UEFA and that the CL and EL are shelved for the coming season. Then perhaps Lyon will have less to "bitch" about.
There is only one option - null and void. The government can help by issuing quite clear guidelines for social gatherings. No more than 5 people and then the PL and EFL are ****ed. You can't sue someone for complying with the law.
Whilst I agree with you Godders, you need to remember that this current Government is totally incapable of making any decisión that is rational.
Matt Hancock: ‘We are setting the target of twelve Premier League games per day. There will be Premier League games every day until it is completed. No team will be expected to play games less than three days apart. This in an unprecedented gesture of support from this government’
