Where as I would prefer to think if my child was going through what can only be the hell of being in a body that doesn't feel right and was struggling with life that they could come to me and I wouldn't have an adverse reaction that would make them feel even more isolated. As I've said I don't understand the thought process but don't believe it's society, media, trends or anything like that, the **** a trans person gets for being trans wouldn't make it anywhere near worth the effort

Ok, let's try it a different way... If there was no genderfication, would people need to chop their balls off and grow and a pair of tits. If the answer is yes, why? That's a fair enough answer mate. It's as I said at the beginning, it's very rare that portion of thought gets thrown into the topic and discussed. People dicuss more the change, for and against, rather than the mental psychology behind the change.

Apart from a couple idiots looking for 5 minutes of fame (and wouldn't go through with it anyway) people wouldn't even consider an op at that age, I would think you would also think you have to go through lots of **** before actually getting an op, including extensive counseling and hormone replacement therapy, it's not like it's a drive though to get your nob chopped off
mate I know someone who was going through the OP at 21...from female to male. Not in contact now...coz she left but I worked in the same environment for over a year so we got to know each other a bit. You can’t really say that they only do it from a certain age onwards...plus if it’s to fulfil a natural need then what has age got to do with it? Apart from to bypass laws for the OP. As for the counselling...why do the need counselling? Is something that is supposed to be so natural...so traumatic? Does every woman who becomes a mother for the first time go through extensive counselling first? You only need counselling if your state of mind is in an un natural state. The person I knew...she used to say...people should accept me for who I am...which I agree with as a sentiment but I also heard someone say to her...but you can’t quite accept yourself as you are so you have to forgive others for being of the same opinion towards the new you. I understood that point too
That's ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. First of all, female circumcision is often done without any consent from the girl being circumcised. While the two transgender people, due to dysphoria a proven psychological condition have voluntarily chosen to have a sex change. As @West WindsR pointed out, it's literally like comparing rape and consensual sex together and saying "Well, how come I can't rape that girl while you get to have sex with your missus?" I honestly don't get the problem in this at all.
