You deffo have a good point, attitudes do change, **** I remember all kinds or words used in the 80s they wouldn't be acceptable today. We're talking about kids though and kids are cruel, and honest to a point of painful at times.
It's not learned behaviour, its a natural inbuilt reflex action pretty much on show in all pack animals, you can't hear the words but you can see the action.
In an ideal world no, kids would not have to put up with any form of prejudice, but as others have said that simply is not the case in any generation is it.

No child is born with a natural inbuilt reflex to abuse another child for any reason, aside just from a transgender family, which is what we are talking about. By your example, that's like saying it's ok to be racist. Hence what do we do if it does occur, we educate. We don't turn to the black child and say you shouldn't have been born, because you will be mocked at school. We used to have the same behaviours in society towards same sex couples, again we educated, although it still exists in some areas of the world.

Maybe that's what lorraine meant by "shining example of freedom and tolerance" yes they are, being the 1st. That's thier choice to call up the media and publish thier lives, the kid ain't got a choice. 1st transgender child, forever. The problem is if you don't have people who start this acceptance will never come you just have to look at history and all the fights for equality, sadly some will suffer the intolerance because people are stupid hateful ****s. It's ****ing mental that people choose to hate others because of the way they are, very weird to me
