I think a lot of the complaints about Jose are down to what happens when you change managers. The history of the squad is forgotten as the new man wipes the slate clean. We then have to go through a process of the new manager exploring what he has in his squad. Jose has done that with a number of players. Playing them maybe a couple of times for Jose to discover what we knew because we watch them every week; he hadn't. Changing managers in mid season is frankly a panic measure which should really only be used if we look in danger of relegation which is the argument they probably used to sack Ramos (Not that we were in danger IMHO) although I am glad that particular manager went. Mid season changes are always going to be disruptive as we are seeing now. I am not completely against the idea of Jose YET, because his reputation could still gain us some players who will sign for Spurs because of him. What happens in the Summer is when we have a measure of his worth to Spurs or not. If we start next season with a rejuvenated squad and some serious quality signings then ok, if not then you have to ask what was the point in going for him in the first place.
The money that has been spent in the last two windows and with the lack of champions league money (assuming Spurs don’t make top 4) then will there be money for quality signings in the summer? And if there is, will they let Jose choose his players or will it be a club choice of who is signed?
The lack of CL money will essentially be an issue for the 2021 summer, so I don’t see any reason why we can’t spend a reasonable amount this summer. Shipping out some players will obviously help too, especially if we choose to sell one or two players that can fetch a good amount.
Considering how much stock is put into the deranged ****e that comes out the mouths of Chris Sutton or Roy Keane, suggesting that Jame O'Hara is the lowest point of punditry is a bit of a stretch
That's not my words those are yours. I have never seen him pundit? but I do remember him being full of himself when at Spurs. Not that you don't need that kind of thing to be a top sportsman it's just that he was not as good as he thought he was.Roy Keane on the other hand is not someone who I warm too but he was a top midfielder who never took prisoners.
O'Hara is a whore who would flog his first born to get his weekly spot on Talksh*te I have to endure this rubbish some days if I work in an office that has this on every day , this place is staffed with Arse ,Chav, wet Spam and a Newport county supporters , the only one who talks sense is the Newport supporter
Being a top player on the pitch doesn’t make someone a good pundit. Some of the best pundits probably are the ones that weren’t the best players.
Mine was a flippant remark. I'm surprised people care. I try to avoid pundits because most of them like commentators are dreadful. Just because you played the game doesn't mean you can observe and analyse as most of them prove. Most of the ex pros seem to be there to justify players diving or committing fouls. That was all he could do - He took one for the team - He felt the player and went down and WON a free kick. Just **** off!
The problem is that, when they venture forth an opinion, it gains credence - but that's notable is some pundits opinions (which is what they are) are treated as The Word of God, notably Neville, Keane and Carragher, while after that there's a sliding scale of why people choose not to listen to them be it because they're clueless (Shearer) or because I'm Not Racist It's Just I Have A Disproportionate Level of Hatred For This One Pundit (Jenas)
José Mourinho is winless in six matches in all competitions (D2 L4) – the longest winless run of his entire managerial career (935 matches)
It is too soon to judge Mourinho, it takes time to implement the philosophy fully and time to get the squad required. It has taken Klopp 5 years and the introduction of VAR to finally land Pool a PL title, albeit a severely tainted one. Mourinho has won silverware everywhere he has been, if he fails to win something with Spurs, then the owners lack of true ambition will be the main reason for it.
Mourinho won’t win trophies or be a success with Spurs for two reasons 1) he needs unlimited funds 2) his dinosaur negative tactics belong in the last decade
Even though mourinhos your manager ive always said number 1 for me isnt true. Number 2 is definitely true though. Hes never adapted his tactics and he's in a way turned into wenger. As well as that his tactics were more for consistency in the league and in terms of knockout competitions it was more down to a 50/50 imo. Lastly he used to be the leader and driver in the team and players used to respond to that. The new age footballers need more moddy coddling and hes too antagonistic in my book
