Out of interest do you have a genuine example of this.

 

I'm sure someone will remember better than me, but the death rate on a ventilator was around 85%, not sure why i've got that figure in my head but there you go. Chances of an 80+ year old surviving on a ventilator, were probably a big fat 0% - but I just made that bit up, because it sounds about right

 

Why do you even bother, because you will still tell him he's wrong, so tell him now and save us all the agony.

 

Probably about right ... however, the alternative is that if you are not put on a ventilator at that stage you will almost certainly die. They give you a small window of opportunity to regain strength. The younger you are the more chance it gives you.
