You're right, no way should the prime minister be focusing on the countries issues when he has such a busy private life.

This is more a function of how many are being tested than any genuine knowledge of how many are still being infected.

Can’t blame the guy for fathering a (premature?) child.

Can blame the guy for skipping a Cobra meeting to sort his divorce out.

Hence why I suggest, the government must not lift the lockdown yet, because they will get such a kicking from the public if we get a second peak. Just hold fire for a week or two, and watch what occurs.

The public will swallow it just like they've swallowed everything else.

The pressure from within the tory party is growing, shops are starting to work around the lockdown. Over the next few weeks I can easily see this fraying around the edges becoming a complete unraveling. I'm not even sure it matters that much now, the majority of the public will remain cautious and help keep infection rates from getting out of hand, just like Sweden have seen a 90% fall in pub\bar use even though no lockdown was announced.

The damage has been done, the vulnerable havent been saved and we will end up with 100,000 excess deaths anyway. So just open the doors, tell everyone to go to work whilst wearing masks and making best effort at social distancing.

The ideal approach is go for another 2-3 weeks with a plan of release after that, with the caveat of watching the events on other countries.

Agree fully that next Thursday they should say more or less as you were till end of May, but they have to give a light at the end of the tunnel.

... or that they are now copping flak because they didn't, they dithered, and they failed to understand the complexity of language in the sentence "would you like to order some ventilators" ...

I think they'll have plenty of time to argue this at a much later date, in fact I'd have a guess, it's going to run the whole of this decade, by the time all the court cases are heard, for compensation and criminal charges. You just know that is what is going to happen. And that's without all court cases bestowed on the Premier League and EFL short of any decision they decide on making. The world we live in now, where there is blame, there be a claim. At least it will create plenty of jobs, much like PPI did, only this time PPE. <whistle>

Its good to see you are an expert, by the way ventilators dont seem to work and may be killing more poeple than its saving.

I probably wouldn't say ventilators don't work, I would more say, avoid going on one if at all possible. I assume you are referring to where they believe you have a better chance if air is delivered by a mask rather than a tube, or certainly seemed to be the case, in the front line footage that I saw. I'm not sure if they adapted something, but I'm not sure of the techinical side of these things. Even so, it still takes up a huge amount of care time to monitor them, and if you don't have the nurses, you have a problem, more than the ventilators ever created. (I'm not suggesting there was a shortage of nurses, just saying).

No expert ... but I doubt I would have misunderstood the communication from the EU inviting us to join their ventilator procurement initiative ...

Now about ventilators killing more people than they are saving ... evidence please ... no need to rush <ok>

The reality is that being put on a ventilator is invariably the last chance saloon, whether for Coviid-19 or anything else - consequentially the chances of recovery if you are put on one are not very good ... but the ventilator is unlikely to cause harm in itself ...it will keep you alive because, at that point, you can't breath independently.

I think you did actually, this was discussed at length last week.

The EU initiative had not, at time of discussion, actual delivered any ventilators and we as a county were exploring other options.

Bottom, and very important, line was, the government lied or something. That joining the EU initiative wouldn't have supplied ventilators quicker was deemed irrelevant essentially.

No need you have proven my point ... none of these claim that "... ventilators may be killing more people than they are saving". Thanks <ok>
