Dunno. Saw a seemingly sane and not noticeably brain damaged woman on tv yesterday blaming the Illuminati, who apparently also control “our air”. It’ll be them, China, and the Fake News causing all this mayhem.

 

Being reported in the press that Germany’s infection rate is on the increase now the restrictions are being lifted?

This is the concern, here in the UK anything we do now, might not rear the consequences until 2-3 weeks time. One of the key advantages that the UK now have still being in lockdown, is that we can watch what is going on in other countries such as Germany.

The ONS site has different figures though as i've said numerous times imo the real figure that matters is the excess deaths figure

Our latest data on weekly deaths registrations include deaths involving COVID-19. Up to 17 April, there were 19,112 deaths registered in England and Wales involving COVID-19 (11,405 men and 7,707 women).

yep and that shows 27000 excess deaths in the 3 weeks ending 17/4/20 which as far as i'm concerned is the true pandemic fatality cost .

I don’t think we are anywhere near ready for restrictions to be lifted. When you look at everything it does seem that we may have peaked between the 8th and 10th April. Soon after the Easter weekend infections rose again before going back down. There was a big spike in the rate of infections just 5 days ago and since then it has dropped to levels before the peak but still thousands a day being diagnosed with it and still way above the levels of when the lockdown was put in place. If the rate of infections continues to drop markedly every day for another week, then fair enough.

I think you are right, and i've had more than my fair share of say on it over the last few days, people are probably sick of hearing it

But yeah, we need to play the advantage here, just sit back and watch what happens elsewhere, if we jump into soon with lifting measures and we get a second peak, we will have no excuses for getting it wrong. Let's just play it cool and watch Germany, Italy and Spain etc.
