    Time for some prediction fun.

    Wolves vs Newcastle -

    Newcastle vs Tottenham -

    Newcastle vs Wigan -

    Stoke vs Newcastle -

    Newcastle vs Everton -

    Man City vs Newcastle -

    Man Utd vs Newcastle -

    Newcastle vs Chelsea -

    Here's mine:

Wolves vs Newcastle - Draw/win (I think we've shown we can put in a fight during away games now)

Newcastle vs Tottenham - Draw/win (Spurs are looking real good, but we seem to play very well at home)

    Newcastle vs Wigan - Win

Stoke vs Newcastle - Draw/loss (For some reason, they're just too hard to beat at home)

Newcastle vs Everton - Draw/win (Another home game and not the team they were)

Man City vs Newcastle - Loss/draw (Tough as **** game, but SOME teams will sneak points there, and there's no reason why it couldn't be us)

Man Utd vs Newcastle - Loss/draw (See above)

Newcastle vs Chelsea - Draw (If we're sailing high and put in a top notch performance we could nullify Chelsea at home and sneak a draw I reckon)

So basically, out of these 8 games, I'd say anything from 8 points to 15. If I had to put down an actual figure I'd say 8/9.

Even though we drew with spurs at home last season and now we have a much improved squad? Is it that you think Spurs have improved their side more than we have ours?

Spoke to my mate about this on saturday. After the Chelsea game will be a good indication of how far we have came. I can see us sitting on 22pts by then and still up near the top!!!

Spurs are looking good this season. Even the original players from last season seem to be playing better and as a tighter unit. Plus, they have Adebayor now who is looking very sharp up-front with Defoe. He will arguably be the toughest attacking challenge our defence has faced so far this season.

Whoops didn't realise. I officially dub myself a helmet.

I've never been a fan of long term predictions because of the unknown factors that can affect the outcomes but I'd have to go with this on the basis that nothing changes (i.e. first XI players getting injured, illness or Shola recovering):

    Wolves vs Newcastle - W

    Newcastle vs Tottenham - W

    Newcastle vs Wigan - W

    Stoke vs Newcastle - W

    Newcastle vs Everton - W

Man City vs Newcastle - W

Man Utd vs Newcastle - W

    Newcastle vs Chelsea - W

The Quiet Revolution shall erupt and the media defined 'Geordie Proletariat' will kick Lawro et al in the nuts.

Come the revolution! Up against the wall!

Pretty much this. We'll never win all three of those home games though, knowing us we'll lose to Wigan. I think we could get something against Chelsea as well, but if I was going to predict I'd go for the same as you. <ok>

This is true, and I haven't seen too much of spurs this season admittedly. From what I have seen though I don't see them getting the midfield domination they need when they play against our new set up and with some of the glorious through balls we've seen from Cabaye and with a likely fully fit Ben Arfa I'd like to say we'd draw that game at least.

Yeah I expect about 8-12 points of the 24 possible. But you never know in football ... Spurs may have a day off and City might be saving some players cos they have a midweek CL game against Napoli, so we still have a chance to get a point in both games. But of course if we have to lose any of our matches, I'd like to see resilient displays and no thrashings ... and of course if we can get pick up the maximum points against Wolves,Wigan, Stoke and Everton then I guess we'll still be in the Top 8 even with this tough calendar.

I think that we will pick up 10 points from those games, putting us on 22 points from 14 games which is very respectable.

The good thing about this is that, if we do get 9/10 points, it gets arguably our toughest run of matches out of the way. Whilst we might slip down the table slightly, we will then have easier matches to gain points back.

It's a bit like Formula One really. A driver might take a pit stop which knocks him back a few positions in the race, but they know that those positions can be re-gained when the other drivers need to pit.

We are bound to slip down the table from where we currently sit. I will be happy with a top 10 finish this year and the fact that we were sitting in 4th place after 6 games is just a nice bonus.

I am not being pessimistic by saying this, it is just that we have a mid table squad at best

Imo we have a top 8 first 11, but a top 10-12 squad. The first 11 with players like Krul, Saylor, Cabaye, Tiote is immense, but beyond that we'd struggle to fill KEY positions with much quality.
