no ... short memory folders... you originally asked for one 5 reasons , then 1 , then admitted there were problems and today it has to be insurmountable problems..... what next ?
No. Wrong again. “I may be missing something but why cancel? Why not just play on when it’s safe to do so? When it’s safe then work out how the next 2 to 3 seasons will be played out. I am open to explanations.” Just because there is a problem doesn’t mean that the season cannot be played. It would have to be an insurmountable problem. “I can see problems but not insurmountable problems. In practical terms we just have to re-arrange the games for this and next season and possibly the one after. And it will then mean probably more games in a shortened period of time and hopefully mean none of the sponsors ultimately pull their sponsorship money meaning less likelihood of Clubs going bust.” So now that we have corrected your incorrect statements can we get back to you advising as to one reason/problem/issue that would stop the season from being completed. Not just a problem. Not just a reason. Not just an issue. But a problem or reason or issue as to why the season cannot be played to a conclusion once it’s safe to do so.
what i said is correct.. read the thread anyway just cancel it mate... easy .. sky not after money back
It's going to be a long while till we can restart football properly, so to me the easiest solution is just to re-start this season - probably not until 2021 - and then we just lose a season, but without any games already played being nulled and without causing the legal problems that cancelling the season would create. The law suits that would follow cancellation would tie the game up for years and potentially destroy it.
Why is it not an option? The TV money for a full lost season is a strawman's argument. The loss of money would be no different than cancelling this season. Games will still restart at the same time they would anyway and the current TV deal would continue. In effect we would not be losing a season as much as losing a year from the calendar.
They wouldn't lose a full season's TV money. They would lose a year's TV money. Their is a subtle difference. You treat the current TV deals as a three season deal rather than a 3 year deal. Most clubs will be losing the best part of a year's revenue anyway as they will have no fans coming in to watch games and no matchday sponsorship. For the vast majority of football clubs this is the biggest part of their revenue. It would only affect the Premier League teams more. As for Premier League teams let me quote a wise sage......
As already mentioned Restart season Following few seasons are then in line with having the 2022 world cup in Qatar.
I am now firmly in the play out the rest of the season camp. It should restart around May 19th. I have a flight booked back to UK on 18th. I am staying off the bat soup so you have nothing to fear.
As @Hung,Drawn and Quartered said elsewhere, the French league seasons have been cancelled. This is alongside Belgium and Holland who have already done so. The problem for Europe is how do you start next season? Either every league has to finish and announce final standings as is, or every league has to cancel completely and we start again as if 19/20 never happened. Either way its ****ing hilarious - either the Scousers don't win the title, or Villa get relegated. Win-win.
villa getting relegated and effectively into administration the same summer as we get taken over by the saudis would be fantastic.
Surely if they end the season as is with the standings the way they are they cannot relegate anyone nor can anyone be promoted/relegated from lower divisions? It's more likely it will be cancelled (even more so now) which means the Bin Dippers' 30 year wait for a title will carry on into next season...and sadly Villa will still be in the premium league....albeit most likely minus a couple of their star players.
Cancel the season, the sooner the better. It's only ****ing football ffs. If by some chance it does re-start, what price do you put on a footballer's life. Besides other top flight clubs could well be in financial disarray, whilst NUFC may just come out of the **** smelling of roses.
